Description

Fall in love with the boy next door in this sweet romance by USA Today Best Selling Author, Jillian Dodd.

You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.

There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it’s windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He’s the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for.

Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth. Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He’s the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me.  And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.

One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is that boy.

I truly enjoyed this book. Of course I basically just cried my eyes out and in the last chapter I again cried and got terrified. This was so full of life and I loved the message that came through this book, well I liked two messages that came through it; What the hell? And live life to the fullest and take advantage of all great life opportunities. There for this book was great and I give it 5 stars and say that all the emoticons where a bit of a reality check at how lucky I am so, what the hell I’m gonna read the next one!!! I highly recommend this and from now on when I’m second guessing something I’ll just say, what the hell.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I absolutely love the characters in this story, and was definitely rooting for a certain couple the entire time, and was so happy with the outcome.

I got this book when I was browsing and immediately jumped on it cause it was free! I really like the plot although a bit unrealistic with the relationship between the main character and her two friends. The book takes you from the beginning of their friendship through college and young adulthood. Very descriptive and I feel like I know the characters personally. Not for anyone under 15 because of the drinking, kissing and mature content. I recommend it as a pass time.

so good. finished in four days and it’s a pretty long book! i read a review that i agreed with, it was very hard to connect with jj at first. but towards the end i did. if you’re reading this, i definitely recommend it!! ****DO NOT READ BELOW BECAUSE THERE ARE SPOILERS!!!**** here’s some things that i wish hadn’t happened, or that had. 1) i wish jadyn and danny slept together so it would seem more complete i guess? and i wish that they dated some, too. for a little at least 2) i really hate that danny proposed to lori. i hate that they can’t all stay the way they were being younger. i haven’t read the other books yet, but here’s to hoping danny and lori don’t last. like seriously, it irks me way more than it should. 3) her parents dying was really sad for me. yes, it added great conflict. but why couldn’t they have just been in comas for awhile and then on hospice or something like that? and then they slowly recover, with a few scares along the way for good measure? i’d much prefer that than the sadness of not having them anymore. though i appreciate how it didn’t dwell on that so much 4) i wish there was more time on certain years. well, most years. i wanted more of college, more of jadyn and danny. i was really, really rooting for them to last a bit. now i just feel like they never really got it out of their system. i wanted more of high school too, and junior high when they were still munchkins. adult life got crazy and i wasn’t prepared learning about danny and jadyn had done these things, but i wasn’t told 5) that was a lot of critiques, so for good measure i will add in this. i could not put it down. i’ve finally finished it and it’s 4:03am as i’m writing this. i loved the story. i chain read books, but i get very emotionally attached to some, i can go way back and name the books and authors that made me cry or that i’ll never forget (ie We Were Liars, or Finding Sky i believe it was called. i bawled like crazy with those). so yes, i get very attached to characters when i’ve inserted myself into the book as them, which is why i wanted danny and jadyn to have dated, or why i wish her parents still lived. again, i’ve only just finished this one. but i’m hoping something happens where jadyn and danny date for a little bit and then come back together. but i guess all this reading is jus preparing me for the harsh reality that is life. i’ve never been a fan of change, so i must say i’m proud of myself for handling this book as well as i did. i do commemorate this work of literature, though. kept me on my toes (though i want more romance with phillip. i know, i’m needy) if you haven’t read the book yet and just read those spoilers, first of all why would you even risk it? and second of all, you need to read this, period. seriously a good book. (i feel it is also important to add that a) while reading this book i was/am on my period and b) as someone who inserts themselves into novels, i compared the characters to real experiences from me. see where my emotion comes from?) okay, ending positive. definite read. especially since it’s free! and i’ll be reading the next one as well!

I enjoyed That Boy and wished to read the next ones. When I went to buy it, the price was too much. I am an elderly widow on a limited budget. I'm sure there more readers that love to read and are in the same situation. Thank you for the one I read. Sincerely, Elizabeth Standridge

This book was so much fun! There’s fantastic character development, and, while it's an easy read, the details made the whole story come alive - I couldn't put it down!

So I loved the book. I liked how it started out from the perspective of a little child because the story started from there. But for me, I really thought she would have ended up with Danny. I was so rooting for the romance with Danny. Danny was her first everything. And then I’m just supposed to go with the Phillip relationship.. I was shipping Danny so much. I was just disappointed she and Danny didn’t end up together because who cares if they were too similar. They got each other. Worked with each other. But I suppose I get what the author did. All in all. Book started kinda slow. But it needed to be to tell the story. Made me get super attach to Danny as you can see... I’m heartbroken. Lol good job
