Description
When Life Seemed Its Worst, Gresham Awaited
Julia Hollis' opulent life in Victorian London crashes to pieces when her husband passes away. Worse, she is told by his bankers that he gambled away their fortune. Now, the family's hope rests on The Larkspur, an old abandoned coaching inn in the quaint village of Gresham.
Driven by dread and her desire to provide for her children, Julia decides to turn the dilapidated inn into a lodging house. But can she--who was accustomed to servants attending to every need--do what needs to be done and cope when boarders begin arriving? And then an eligible new vicar moves into town...

Quite a delightful book
5By TexasMan39I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! I looked forward every evening til I was able to sit and read. And I really enjoyed how the author ended this book. I don’t normally spend that much money on ebooks but I am going to make an exception to my rule and purchase the rest of the series! What an endearing story!
5By A diehard Christian romanticTrouble turns to triumph in the sweetest way. Hardship and disappointment become stepping stones to understanding how God cares for us.Sweet easy reading
5By JeanwasLove love love this sweet book. Very easy to follow along. Didn't drag along.Well written and entertaining
5By Evieiell98210I thoroughly enjoyed this book! At first I was uncertain because the author starts out from the perspective of the main character for the first serval chapters then adds the perspective of other characters in the story. Always reverting back of course to the main character. Typically, this would annoy me but I found myself liking all of the characters so much that I not only didn't mind, but looked forward of seeing things from their prospective. This book is a feel good and inspirational book. If you are looking for a "Happy Ending" book this is the one for you.The Widow of Larkspur Inn
5By SuthernfoxI loved it. The period harkens back to when Christian values were so much more relevant to daily living. And the clothing! However uncomfortable, there was a clean modest way of dressing. And the redemptive theme was wonderful! Isn't this how we want to live and see people enjoy their blessings after spending time in the valleys?Widow Of Larkspur Inn

5By CarolynmbgWhat a sweet story. Spiritual but not over the top. Let's you fall for the characters enough that the tprayers seem a natural part of the dialogue. I'll read a sequel and you will too, when you finish Ms. Blackwell's novel. So many smiles!!
