Description

From bestselling author and host of HBO's Real Time, Bill Maher's new book of political riffs serves up a savagely funny set of rules for preserving sanity in an insane world.
A follow-up to the New York Times bestselling The New Rules, The New New Rules delivers a series of hilarious, intelligent rants on everything from same-sex marriage to healthcare, from Republican agendas to celebrity meltdowns, with all the razor-sharp insight that has made Bill Maher one of the most influential comedic voices shaping the political debate today. With another presidential campaign on the horizon and a stellar set of real-life characters to have fun with - "New Rule: If Charlie Sheen's home life means he can't have a TV show, then I say Newt Gingrich can't be president"-this enlightening and important book may be the best thing you pretend to read all year.

  • Bill Maher for President!

Irreverent, up-front, gaudy, short-tempered, perceptive, honest and not afraid to look at the dark side of our existence.
  • But he's "right"

He and his writers never cease to maze me that he can actually blend intellectualism and comedy, make it relevant and truthful and have half of the country first, not even understanding what he purports and second, condemn him. We have become a fat, reality watching, non productive, non creative, and most important unaccountable country! Give em hell, Bill!

As usual, Bill Maher comes up with funny, smart and intelligent remarks that describe our culture. Whether you agree with him or not, the book is an easy read and both conservatives and liberals should get a kick out of it. Now, how about a Latino Bill Maher? Wait! That's George Lopez! I'm just saying. Jose Gallegos

    Sometimes contradicting but always entertaining.

This book is not recommended for conservative bureaucrats that have no sense of humor. Or for the most part, conservative morons like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Then again, who are you kidding, Donald Trump is trying to teach me how to save money from an audio book when his companies have gone through bankruptcy three times. But then again, who's counting. Extremely entertaining. Love it!

I honestly thought this would be more of a book with new thoughts instead of a repeat of his favorite new rules. I did enjoy it and had some good laughs and used some of them in my arguments when talking politics
