I had all of the familiar facts about the Kennedy family prior to reading this book but nothing could prepare me for the entire story. There were times I felt excitement, for example when JFK won the election. You could feel how much his family loved him and how much the whole ordeal meant to the country. There were also times I felt incredible sadness which is to be expected given all they have been through. By the time I got to Jackie’s passing I was bawling. John Jrs story was heartbreaking to say the least. I have a newfound respect for Ethel Kennedy. I am not very religious and I admired the families strong faith even in the darkest of times. There are a lot of life lessons within this book to be learned but the one I came away with strongest was life puts you through unspeakable heartache and the only way to get through it is by your faith and love for family. Good read for anyone with even a mild interest in the family. I had to exhale once I was done.

Its a little too sentimental and not objective enough to make it interesting or valuable Pretty much a re-hash of the same old story Its a perfect beach book where you don't have to think

There isnt anything new on the Kennedy subject. He was really not a good president and his family behaved horribly at times. Wish someone would write a non-biased history of this complicated family. Dont wadte you money on the same old same old.
