Description

As the most serious threat ever facing the galaxy now looms over them—weapons able to destroy stars—Calvin and his enterprising crew continue their mission to expose and eliminate the dark conspiracy that has taken root inside the Empire. Now a fugitive on the run, Calvin has no choice but to work alongside Raidan’s mysterious Organization. And accept help from the unlikeliest band of fair-weather friends, including a mysterious squad of Polarian soldiers, an ex-intelligence-operative from the Rotham Republic, and the ever elusive Tristan—whose truest motives are a closely guarded secret.

To make matters worse, Calvin is hunted mercilessly across the stars by Intel Wing’s top operative, Lafayette Nimoux, who is aided by a double-agent on Calvin’s own ship.

Meanwhile the sands of fortune are shifting within the Empire, upsetting the delicate political climate. Warships and civilian transports are vanishing without a trace and murders in the dark are going unnoticed. All eyes are fixed on Renora—a human colony that has been savagely attacked and thrown into civil war. The prime suspect behind the attack is none other than Princess Kalila Akira. All the dark signs are pointing to what could be the death of the Empire, and the end of human dominance in the galaxy.

After finishing the first two books I will say that they are very entertaining and well written, but I cannot accept the lack of ending to either book. It’s a shame because the story is quite thrilling and the fact that I have to read 7 books (spend $70) to get to the end is unfortunate, and a deal killer.

I am absolutely hooked on this book series. I have just finished the second book and am in withdraw until I can afford the time and finances to finish the series. I was surprised to guess the wrong outcome during several parts of the book and is looking it has kept and peaked my interests even more.

Fast paced well written book, the main characters are well fleshed out and their relationships with other characters are fully developed and believable. I could have done without the zombie apocalypse toward the end of the book there are other foes that are just as terrifying. Hollywood has really overdone the zombie thing.

Not bad. I'll probably read it again for the nuances. The use of mc has me stumped though. I'm not that hard core Sci Fi or NASA to figure out the measure. Million Centimeters? Love getting into Calvain's head though. Ninoux is shaping up as a character equal to "Spock". And no space opera is worth its salt without the hot bodacious babe, Summers, or 7 of 9 without the wire makeup. An enjoyable read

If you are a scifi fan, I highly recommend this series. When I devour a book in 3 days as I did with The Phoenix Rising, I know I am reading a good story by a talented author. I look forward to many more great reads by Richard L. Sanders.

I downloaded the first in the series for free, and immediately purchased the next book, Phoenix Rising hoping it was as good as the first. I was not disappointed and am on to purchase the next book The Phoenix Crisis. Excellent reading, I'm throughly enjoying the characters and the story line development. Can't wait to start book 3.
