Batman Vol 1: The Court of Owls
By Scott Snyder & Greg Capullo
#1 New York Times Best Seller! Following his ground-breaking, critically acclaimed run on Detective Comics, writer Scott Snyder (American Vampire) alongside artist Greg Capullo (Spawn) begins a new era of The Dark Knight with the relaunch of Batman, as a part of DC Comics—The New 52! After a series of brutal murders rocks Gotham City, Batman begins to realize that perhaps these crimes go far deeper than appearances suggest. As the Caped Crusader begins to unravel this deadly mystery, he discovers a conspiracy going back to his youth and beyond to the origins of the city he's sworn to protect. Could the Court of Owls, once thought to be nothing more than an urban legend, be behind the crime and corruption? Or is Bruce Wayne losing his grip on sanity and falling prey to the pressures of his war on crime?

Not a comic book guy5By The_D_19First comic I have purchased in 10+ years. Very much enjoyed the visual and the mystery. I put it down but found myself wondering all day what was going to happen.
Batman5By Pizzaplanent2227789This book was great, and I really liked the story. Scott Snyder did a really good job.
Great Comic5By Batman575It takes Batman to a whole new level, intense at every page, and great surprises. Please make more like this!
Awesome. Just awesome.5By T-1000I was hesitant to pick this up because of the mixed emotions I had heard about the New 52. But I am so glad that I did. This could be one of the fifteen best Batman comics ever written. Makes me look forward to what Scott Snyder has planned next for the Caped Crusader. Grade: A+
Loved the Story...4By Carrig...but I wish the viewing layout was better and had better customization like I am used to with other iBooks. It would be nice to have the ability to view one page at a time full screen in portrait more easily, as well as toggle the border on/off. I'm glad more Batman graphic novels have hit the iBookstore, but am most looking forward to seeing #0 of this series as well as Volume 2.
Great new story5By raincntryIt's story arcs like this that make Batman the best superhero comic to read. This is a fresh take on a classic hero, throwing in enough details to make the Court of the Owls fit nicely into Gotham's history. I suggest this to any Batman fan, new or old.
