He does that because he feels like you should not be able to purchase individual songs from albums. He feels like an album is a representation of who that artist was at that time and therefore we, as fans, are getting to know that artist on a personal level by listening to the entire album. Garth Brooks refuses to put his music on iTunes but he sells and promotes written material. This truly does not make any sense. Maybe someday he will come around to pleasing his fans
