In the classic struggle between short-term ego gratification and longer-term happiness, fulfillment, and success -- between getting our own way and finding the best way -- it’s easy to overlook a truly Great Idea!

Getting to Great Idea! borrows from Dante’s Divine Comedy the device of Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso to tell the story of a young woman, Beatryce -- “B, you know, like the letter!” -- who finds herself trapped in Hell: a Saturday marketing team meeting where everyone is talking
6and no one is listening. B’s “Virgil” is Kali, a wizened Indian woman, who guides her through Purgatory where mystical creatures impart their wisdom. Entering seven successive portals on seven continents, B learns the questions to ask herself and her teammates to draw them towards candid self-awareness and accountability. Finally, mentor and student arrive in Paradise: the original team meeting- transformed from a frustrated collection of individuals into an audience receptive to B’s coaching. Absorbing all that B has to teach and armed with new tools, the team discovers that they are now willing and able to get to Great Idea!
