I have been struggling with understanding modes and how to "sound" and play in a particular mode for sometime. Well, in the first 20 pages of this book, I finally had the light switch go on because of the easy style of this book. This book breaks down the core concepts of modes and actually is also interactive with live examples. For me, this was very important as text is good but live examples are even better. The style of teaching for me was the best and helped me learn the concepts of modes. For those of you who were like me and trying to understand the concept of modes, this will be a great book for you to learn from. This book would be great for the beginner and intermediate guitarist.

I learned modes back in the 70's via several books, tips from other players and just plain connecting the dots over time. I was very pleased to see that David covered all the key ingredients that I learned in his new e-book. Wish I had this back in '76. The only bigger bonus than being free(!) is that you can hear nice clear examples throughout the book. Well done, and thanks David.
