Description

An instant New York Times bestseller, Thunder Dog tells the true story of a blind man, his guide dog, and the life-changing power of faith and trust in the face of terror.

When one of four hijacked planes flew into the World Trade Center's North Tower on September 11, 2001, Michael Hingson, a district sales manager for a data protection and network security systems company, was sitting down for a meeting. His guide dog, Roselle, was at his feet.

Blind from birth, Michael could hear the sounds of shattering glass, falling debris, and terrified people flooding all around him. But Roselle sat calmly beside him. In that moment, Michael chose to trust Roselle's judgment and not to panic. They were a team.

As you relive that fateful day in September 2001 alongside Michael and Roselle, you'll learn:
The ways that grief and loss can lead the way for changeHow the rare trust between a man and his guide dog can inspire your own unshakeable faithThe healing power of telling your own story
Praise for Thunder Dog:

"Chapter by chapter of this intriguing work will keep you spellbound. Thunder Dog celebrates the power of the human and animal bond. We all can learn life lessons from this incredible story."

Thirty-eight pages of introductions, etc. before the story begins! PUT THEM AT THE BACK! I’m so irritated, nay, angry because I feel taken advantage of while he wrings his hands over his dead hero! Geez! I’m so upset that I’ve decided to ‘vote’ with my pocketbook & not purchase/read this unnecessarily protracted declaration of love that I really wanted to read as an inspirational book about the dogs’ behavior on 911, but never mind! I can live without it & find inspiration in another story by a more disciplined writer. Perhaps his first book, but no excuse! For what purpose, in heavens’ name, are editors, etc? SMH. END.

Thunder Dog is a fantastic and inspirational book about a 9-11 hero guide dog and her owner. It helps you to understand teamwork and how the man’s blindness are both an asset and an interdependency with his guide dog. It will give you an appreciation for how dedicated a guide dog can be to the safety and well-being of her owner. It will also give you a new perspective on blindness that you probably never considered. Great book Michael! Roselle, you’re my hero!
