Description
In this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling In Death series, Lieutenant Eve Dallas discovers that deep hatred can seethe within the closest relationships when she hunts down a man who murdered his own family.
Lieutenant Eve Dallas has plenty to be grateful for, especially Roarke’s big Irish family, which is a joyful improvement on her own dark childhood.
Other couples aren’t as lucky. The Reinholds, for example, are lying in their home stabbed and bludgeoned almost beyond recognition. Those who knew them are stunned—and heartbroken by the evidence that they were killed by their own son.
Turns out that twenty-six-year-old Jerry is not only capable of brutality but has taking a liking to it. With the money he’s stolen from his parents and a long list of grievances, he intends to finally make his mark on the world. Eve and her team already know the who, how, and why of this murder. What they need to pinpoint is where Jerry’s going to strike next.
Reviews
- Great liked all of it!5By Rose budieGreat liked all of it!
- Thankless in Death5By Shay Shay SMuch better than the previous book…...”Calculated in Death”. I almost stopped reading this series because of that book, which was had to be thrown together by a ghost writer. I will sample the next in the series and if things appear to be back to the “normal” personalities of Eve, Roarke, Peabody I will continue to read the series. If not….bye-bye!
- Thankless in Death5By JulzweaverJ.D.Robb has done it again! A heart-stopping thriller, impossible to want to put it down. A must-read if you are a follower of Lt. Eve Dallas. Dallas is amazing and her support team is a big part of it all.
- Good Reading5By caren296This book had it all...humor, sorrow and pleasure. Overall, a really good read. It was poignant on so many levels and exhibited Dallas' softer side - particularly dealing with a young girl victimized and shattered through no fault of her own.
- Loved it5By Dwin7355What a great read. Have read every Eve Dallas book and can't wait for the next one....keep 'me coming!
- Fantastic book5By gdlndThe murder scenes were very graphic. But I so enjoy reading about Eve, Roark, Peabody and Ian and all the friends and relatives. I love the relationships being built and nurtured with all the characters. And the way characters from other books show back up again. I love this series.
- Thankful in Death By JD Robb5By nurse195829This book, quite perfect to read around the Thanksgiving holiday. Great story as all are in this series. I was anxious for Eve to catch the perp at the end. A mix of police business and family happenings is cool too!
- Thankless in Death5By Chef CarriBest one yet!!!
- Thankless in Death5By Pd JamesOne of JD Robb's best! A real thriller from the first page. Less character development and more focus on the action and the investigation. Loved it!
- Yuck1By WladjaOne star because I had to skip half the book, too gross!
- LOVE EVE DALLAS!!!5By PenhipSimply put, this series is on auto-buy for me... and it just keeps getting better and better.
- Awesome!5By eclectictastes4meOne of the best Nora has ever written. I have a new favorite. Couldn't put it down, it was so cool to see a different side to Eve and Roarke with their family and friends. Will be rereading this one over and over again
- Thankless in Death5By Samsta111111Excellent as always - had to finish in less than a day!
- Thankless5By Cantlivewithoutdallas!Love how the marriage gets stronger and stronger; how solid their rhythm is now; that Peabody still sulks and pouts and what a strong investigator she's becoming. Love how well P takes it every time D threatens to kill her. Love that Bella is old enough to dance with McNab. Love how 2 broken and battered children have found family. Love it that she includes Crack and when Nadine has had too much to drink. Love it that Sinead and Mira both stand as mother for them and Sommerset, Feeny and Mr Mira as father. And love that Nixie is healing.....one day Dallas is going to get over her fear of hugging because there are too many people who love her.....
- Thankless in Death1By SkmjrI love Eve and Roarke and have read every Death book, but this story doesn't live up to the previous books. No real warmth between Eve and her man-every scenario contrived. Everyone came to thanksgiving dinner, except Louise was not with Charles. Actually, the book didn't read as if it was written by Nora/JD!
- A little to much2By RoyalceeI had a hard time reading this because Nora spent too much time on the torture. It was just too graphic. The rest of the book was good though.
- Thankless in Death5By Boysmumasboysmumas This novel is one of the best in Death plots I have read. And I've read all of them. All the characters were there, even Crack. And it was a very warm holiday for everyone except Jerry. Great read !
- Thankless in Death.5By OzzysbabeI've read every "in death" books and loved each and every one. This one certainly did not disappoint ! The only negative is it takes so long to get the next one! Please hurry with the next one!
