Description

Luther meets Justified combined with Profiler in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti's exciting Laurel Snow Romantic Thriller series, set in the Pacific Northwest, featuring FBI Special Agent and rising star profiler Laurel Snow. For readers who love their thrillers centered around dysfunctional families, and their protagonists threatened by a serial killer.

Men are dying in the Pacific Northwest, their bodies found near churches, charities, and counselling centers—each with valentine candy hearts shoved down their throats. They’re good men with families and community ties—or so they seem until Laurel Snow and her team begin to investigate. Then the case takes a shockingly personal turn when the father she’s never met, a former pastor, is attacked in exactly the same way.

Now, besides solving the case, Laurel is on the hunt to discover where her father has been. Complicating things is Laurel’s troubled half-sister, Abigail, a brilliant sociopath determined to prove that they’ve both inherited their father’s malignant narcissism.

Assisting Laurel is Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, a dangerous loner whose reliance on gut instinct puts him at odds with Laurel’s coolly analytic approach. But the choice may be moot when the killer hones in on Huck’s own dark secrets—putting him and Laurel squarely in the crosshairs.

Praise for the debut Laurel Snow Thriller

“Slow-burn romance and adrenaline-fueled thrills. . . . Both awkward Laurel and dogged Huck are refreshing departures from typical leads. . . .  Readers will delight in this smart take on a classic trope.” Publishers Weekly (STARRED REVIEW)

“A strong start to a new series promises more mystery and romance for an up-and-coming FBI profiler.” --Kirkus Reviews STARRED REVIEW

Wowza! Mind blown! There were twists and turns in this book that I just did not see coming. The plot and character development in this series is wonderful, as you would expect from anything by Rebecca Zanetti. In this third book, the relationship between Laurel and Huck further develops while they and their respective teams (FBI for her and Fish and Wildlife for him) focus on solving crimes. I don’t want to give spoilers, but Laurel’s half-sister Abigail is still around causing problems, and her biological father, Rev. Caine, makes his first appearance. Huck’s ex Rachel, a reporter, also adds to the challenges they face in solving the media-dubbed “Broken Heart Murders.” While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading “You Can Run” and “You Can Hide” first!

Loved every minute of this book! Laurel is such a one-of-a-kind heroine. She's brilliant and socially awkward but handles extreme moments in the best ways. Her sister is psychotic! It took a bit to figure out if she was going to be good or evil and I think we can finally say we know now. Huck's character has really grown as well. He was hard to read in the beginning. You could tell Laurel intrigued him but he was firmly planted in a loner lifestyle. We finally get to see him allow himself to care. The cases in these books are fascinating to follow. You get a new serial killer with each book, and gets solved by the end of the book, however, it feels like we start off where we left off as well. For that reason, I would highly suggest reading this series in order. This series is turning into a favorite of mine and I can not wait for more. Especially after finding out the little bit of news towards the end of this book.

You Can Die by Rebecca Zanetti 3rd book in the Laurel Snow series. Thriller mystery. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series, in order. A dead man is found in a tent stabbed dozens of times and Valentine’s Day candy hearts stuffed in his mouth. Laurel Snow is called into the case and finds out the victim is her assistant’s ex husband. Laurel and the local police as well as members of the Washington Fish and Wildlife track down and interview family, friends and coworkers. A second victim is found and the investigation continues as snow continues in the mountain town. Laurel is sure that her half sister Abigail is somehow involved but proving it will pit them against each other. And you don’t want to be on Abigail’s enemy list. Gripping and electric. Having an instinct about something and proving it are two different things. Lauren is meticulously careful but family can be unpredictable. I received a copy of this from NetGalley and the publisher. I also purchased copies to share and keep.
