Average story, dragged out into four books
3By Kayle9Not a fan of the multi-novel arc, and got to the end of the first of the three (four if one includes the “wedding” novella) before realizing that I missed the part in the description that said this was going to be a multi-novel story arc. A lot of the plot was predictable, but it’s a romance so predictability is to be expected; the issue was really in how much the storyline was dragged out over the course of three books. For the price, it’s not that big of a deal, but there were several places in the series, especially during the third one, that I thought to myself that this really could have been just one novel. Did not bother with the fourth one.To be continued…

5By kuriedawnFirst off this is an interconnected trilogy. I say that to make sure you realize that this book ends in a way that makes you desperate for book 2. So be prepared. That being said I loved the whole book. Both Clay and Nova are dealing with their own issues that keep their characters interesting and the story moving at a nice pace that I appreciated. I was frustrated with Clay and his behavior. There were moments I just wanted to slap him. Thou I also kept rooting for them. I’m currently feeling the desperation waiting to start book 2.Clay and Nova are a Slam Dunk!

I love Piper’s writing and ‘Game Changer’ is one of many outstanding books that I had a hard time putting down. She gives you just enough to keep you wanting more. Her newest characters, Clay & Nova are a slam dunk and their pull toward one another is nothing short of magnetic. This meet-cute on an airplane take these two characters on a journey of what’s more important love or basketball. But there are obstacles that continue to stand in their way, mainly Clayton Wade and his attitude, cue in the Grumpy Baller. Will he fall for the girl with pink hair? Only the author knows… Another must read from me, but beware this is the first book of the series and leaves on a cliffhanger. Book 2, Shot Taker is coming June 27, 2023. Once again Lawson gas created lovable characters and such an intriguing storyline and seamless plot you just can’t stop reading!!! This is the story of Clay and Nova and they are absolute perfection! Right from the start Nova will capture your heart with her fresh innocence, senseless rambling and dedication to her sister. Piper truly captured her personality perfectly making her utterly endearing—then add in the brash, cockiness self assuredness of Clay, her seat partner for the flight to her sisters wedding, and it’s the perfect recipe for hilarity to ensue! I absolutely adored these two characters and their chemistry and how Nova oh so nonchalantly knocked down all of Clays walls and showed him that he can be the man he wants to be—and not the one he thinks everyone wants him to be. And the entire supporting cast is just as amazing and I’m already anxiously awaiting all of their stories as well! Overall if you’re a fan of steamy sports romances featuring a grumpy cocky alpha jock and the sweet sunshine heroine that captures his heart, then this is the one for you! Just be warned it has the most tantalizing of endings that’s leave you slighting hanging on the edge of a windowsill begging for the rest of their story—but never fear!
