5By VickSt1Beauty in Deception is an intriguing enemies to lovers romance written by Charmaine Pauls which features Christina, who serves as a body double for Evie who is the daughter of an unscrupulous mob boss, Bell, and Roman, the head of his family who is out for revenge against Bell for his parent’s death. Roman kidnaps Evie on the night of her engagement party, however, he actually abducts Christina. This exceptional book has intrigue, mistaken identity, deceit, twists, and steamy chemistry. Christina was a poor girl who really had no choice but to become the double for a rich mafia boss’ daughter, Evie. She was groomed, harshly schooled, physically adjusted so it would be Christina who would be in danger as a decoy and Evie would be kept safe. This is exactly what happens but the man who orchestrated Christina/Evie’s kidnapping, Roman did not plan of being so attracted to her. His possessiveness, jealousy, alpha territorial tendencies have all been released. Roman has issues that he has to settle with Evie’s mafia king father but he has no idea he really has Christina. Both main characters are well flushed out and the background of South Africa gives a feel of adventure and the unknown to the book. This is a page turning, tense, suspenseful , exciting adventure with a good amount of dark romance and unexpected HEA. A really awesome read, Charmaine Paul has once again proven she is an amazing writer of Dark Mafia Romance.Excellent, as usual

5By BallarddebbieLoved reading the fabulous and fantastic, amazing and engrossing romance story by the phenomenal author, Charmaine Pauls. Christina was forced, trained, abused to be Evie Bell's, the mafia princess, double. When Christina is kidnapped by Damon, she follows the plan to continue to pretend to be Evie. The chemistry between Christina and Damon gets harder and harder to avoid. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and riveting story engaging the reader from the first page of the story until the last page of the story.Delicious!
5By ~Mindy Lou~I am so glad we got the beginning to the Diamond Magnate Collection. Turns out it's my favorite of the series. I just loved everything about it. When you realize everything the heroine has gone through, you just want for her to find her happily ever after so badly. Despite all that she has been through, she is such a kind and compassionate person that would put her life on the line for others. The hero is that anti-hero you can't help but love. He's got two sides to him. He has standards that make him a good person but he also can turn to violence without blinking an eye. The way he falls for the heroine, how he protects her despite his and his families anger towards the man they think is her father is what you want to see in a man meant for her. When the truth comes out, my heart was racing and I was glued to this book. Fantastic read!
