Description

Established as H. B. Zachry Company in 1924, Zachry Corporation is today one of the most successful civil and building construction enterprises in the world. Currently in its third generation of family leadership, H. B. “Pat” Zachry founded the 90-year-old company with a singular vision: to leave a legacy of success, earned by seeking opportunity, not security.
In his quest to seek greater opportunity for growth, Pat relocated the company from Laredo, Texas, to San Antonio, Texas, in 1940, where he quickly became a pillar of the community. And as a result of the company’s many investments in the greater San Antonio area, the Zachry name ultimately became synonymous with the city it now calls home.
In 1965, Pat handed the reins of the business over to his son H. B. “Bartell” Zachry Jr. As the new CEO, he effectively led the company toward greater heights by testing new markets and further expanding its footprint throughout the country and overseas.
Today, Bartell’s youngest son, David S. Zachry, is the current CEO of Zachry Corporation. As a company that has stood on a reputation of quality, integrity, and responsibility for more than eight decades, the Zachry Corporation story is about the dreamers and builders who made it all possible.
