Description

This #1 New York Times bestseller is a highly addicting enemies-to-lovers Romantasy with razor-sharp banter, heart-stopping action, and blistering hot romance.

Do not touch the sword. Do not turn the key. Do not open the gate.

Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses, or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen’s reservoirs for as long as she can remember. In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn’t much a girl wouldn’t do for a glass of water. But a secret is like a knot. Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone.

When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares…but it turns out they’re real, and Saeris has landed right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed.

The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist’s magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him… or her. Death has a name. It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate. His past is murky. His attitude stinks. And he’s the only way Saeris is going to make it home.

Be careful of the deals you make, dear child. The devil is in the details... Now with an embossed cover, silver foiling, and an updated interior design.

N.B. Quicksilver contains depictions of graphic violence/adult situations and is therefore recommended for readers 17+. For a full list of tropes and TWs, please visit the author's website.

Omg I could not out this book down! Every moment I had free, I was reading this to find out what would happened next. The character development is grade A, and the evolution of Saeris Fae and King Fisher is full of drama, quick quips, intoxicating lust, love and loyalty.

Callie Hart is a great storyteller. I’ve read an indecent amount of romantasy, and Quicksilver is one of the absolute best. Can’t wait for Brimstone!

This was a great story with lots of detail and plot. The characters are solid and interesting. The use of the F…word over and over was tediously too much. I wish the writer could have been more inventive with her phrasing when it came to those sentences. Otherwise I would have given it a 5.

Quicksilver took a little time to get going, but once it hit its stride around the 200-page mark, I was completely drawn in. The twists, turns, and discoveries along the way kept me hooked, and I genuinely love where the story is heading. The plot feels fresh and unique, with a world that blends danger, magic, and mystery in really compelling ways. I enjoyed watching Fisher and Saeris’s relationship evolve—I found myself rooting for them more and more with each chapter. The side characters were also dynamic and added real depth to the story. I’m looking forward to the next book this fall and can’t wait to see what happens next.

I could not stop reading this. Once I started, I just kept going. This is such a twisting, messed up (in the best way) adventure. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. I need it immediately. I don’t know how many books are meant to be in this series, but let’s just say I need them all. What a trip this book has been. I am so glad my best book friend recommended another winner.

Quicksilver is one book recommended by Booktok that lives up the hype in my opinion. I wasn’t sure when I was going to read it, but then an opportunity came in the form of a book club and I’m so glad that I took part in it. I was so excited to read Quicksilver that I preordered Brimstone before I even read chapter one. There is nothing like an enemies to lovers romance and boy did I eat it up. The main character Saeris Fane grew on me . Kingfisher intrigued me the moment he appeared with his shadows. The secondary characters and villains are really interesting and well fleshed out. Hart’s writing as a whole is really good . I enjoyed the world building and learning the lore. Saeris Fane and Kingfisher are a true example of enemies to lovers. When they fall for one another they fall hard. I was rooting for them the entire time. Spoilers were everywhere especially on certain social media platforms but I avoided them. Yes, that was really hard especially when the fan art started to pop up on my feed. Thank goodness because the third act pays off in a major way. Quicksilver by Callie Hart is a four star read for me out of 5.
