INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER!
"Prepare to meet your next obsession." — Rebecca Ross, author of Divine Rivals
From New York Times bestselling author Rachel Gillig comes the next big romantasy sensation, a gothic, mist-cloaked tale of a young prophetess forced on an impossible quest with the one knight whose future is beyond her sight. Perfect for fans of Jennifer L. Armentrout and Leigh Bardugo.
Sybil Delling has spent nine years dreaming of having no dreams at all. Like the other foundling girls who traded a decade of service for a home in the great cathedral, Sybil is a Diviner. In her dreams she receives visions from six unearthly figures known as Omens. From them, she can predict terrible things before they occur, and lords and common folk alike travel across the kingdom of Traum’s windswept moors to learn their futures by her dreams.
Just as she and her sister Diviners near the end of their service, a mysterious knight arrives at the cathedral. Rude, heretical, and devilishly handsome, the knight Rodrick has no respect for Sybil's visions. But when Sybil's fellow Diviners begin to vanish one by one, she has no choice but to seek his help in finding them. For the world outside the cathedral’s cloister is wrought with peril. Only the gods have the answers she is seeking, and as much as she'd rather avoid Rodrick's dark eyes and sharp tongue, only a heretic can defeat a god.

So close to 5 stars..
4By Eli.S.GSpoilers!!!!! . . . . . . I absolutely loved this book. Six and Rory have some of the best *not quite* enemies to lovers story line. The magic/belief system is so unique. I did figure from the beginning why the deviners had to wear the shroud, as well as why there are so many gargoyles as the tor. BUT the reveal of those things where written so well it didn’t feel like a “uh duh” moment, but more of a “I knew it!” moment. The ending is the ONLY reason this didn’t get a 5 star read. I feel like the last few chapters rushed through getting to the tor to then confront the last Omen. It didn’t feel like Six (Sybil) really reflected enough on her trauma or feelings about her friends being killed, and having her biggest hope ripped away from her. It was still well written, but more time could have been spent on those things and I would have loved every second. The true ending - I had a feeling something fishy was going on and wanted to be wrong.. but I wasn’t!! I can’t wait for book 2. I’m hoping for multiple POVs come book 2. I need to know what’s going on in everyone’s heads!Omg amazing

5By TTurnbull13I loved the shepherd king books so I was really excited for this one! I love how she creates magical worlds unlike any other, and characters that you grow to love.Top 3 books I’ve ever read!!
5By None3232I adored this book so much. In a way it makes me feel the same way “Bring Me Their Hearts” and “Heartless Hunter” did. I felt every emotion I was supposed to feel and didn’t see every twist that was coming at me. I’m not even mad that I read it right after release (I normally wait until the next book is out) it’s so good!!Beautiful, artful, soulful
5By mmarcone912Gellig has done it again. The Shepherd King duology was wonderful and I was really excited to see another book by this author. This new series does not disappoint. I can’t wait to read the next book. This author actually knows how to write, which sadly has become a bit rare in this genre. The dialogue is often quite poetic, hitting you right in the heart. She stays true to her dark witchy vibe which was so compelling in the Shepherd King books, while also not being too cliche or on the nose. Just really artfully done.
