By telling the story of his childhood, adolescence and adulthood through this lens, and tearing apart some of the most hackneyed and ineffective self-help advice people on the Spectrum receive daily, the author reminds the Autistic reader that their life's difficulties may not be quite as uncommon, or dismissed as they fear.
