Description

INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The world’s most celebrated thriller writer and author of The Da Vinci Code returns with his most stunning novel yet—a propulsive, twisty, thought-provoking masterpiece that will entertain readers as only Dan Brown can do.

Robert Langdon, esteemed professor of symbology, travels to Prague to attend a groundbreaking lecture by Katherine Solomon—a prominent noetic scientist with whom he has recently begun a relationship. Katherine is on the verge of publishing an explosive book that contains startling discoveries about the nature of human consciousness and threatens to disrupt centuries of established belief. But a brutal murder catapults the trip into chaos, and Katherine suddenly disappears along with her manuscript. Langdon finds himself targeted by a powerful organization and hunted by a chilling assailant sprung from Prague’s most ancient mythology. As the plot expands into London and New York, Langdon desperately searches for Katherine . . . and for answers. In a thrilling race through the dual worlds of futuristic science and mystical lore, he uncovers a shocking truth about a secret project that will forever change the way we think about the human mind.

  • A fun read!

I very much enjoyed the story and how it pushed/dragged me through it. At times I felt that there was too much extraneous information dropped into a very exciting story. But as I continued reading I began to realize how important it was to understanding what the author was telling the reader. There are things going on in the world that we have no idea of. The main character, Robert Landon, kept me intrigued with his resolving of the puzzles along the way. It is always fun to have ‘Tom Hanks’ along in my minds eye while reading!

The premise, the science, the history all equaled another deep, thrilling, Dan Brown adventure that blew my mind. No one writes fact and fiction like him. It’s storytelling that will stay with you long after you finish the book. As thought provoking as it is satisfying.

  • Not his best work

The story is continually paused while you have to read way too many pages of technical details. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this book.

Thought provoking, fun, intellectually stimulating throughout. This book is a detective novel with a twist on history and understanding of human conciseness. Brown’s writing is always a journey that keeps the reader anticipating the next provoking revelation. True to form, this adventure includes real life locations, background, and history. Unquestionably blended with humanity’s quest to understand our present moment in history. Bravo once again!

Enjoyed the story line and surrounding dialogue The story line gives us food for thought. To a great extent comfort in our dreams. Certainly possibilities.
  • A good, yet long, read

Strong characters and good story line. Was long, and got pretty granular and long-winded with the science details, but very informative about brain science.

This book reads like consciousness itself! Takes you into what is not only possible but happening now! My own powerful OBE experiences, my own soul guidance and now we can begin to release fear of death to know our immortality continues as we just take another adventure within our consciousness! I love this book! MaryLinda
  • Forgettable

So the book wasn’t horrible…but it wasn’t great. I found myself struggling to stay engaged in it and it is one that after reading you simply forget other than the time wasted reading it. It was “ok” till the final few chapters at which point the secondary character Katherine made the assertion that being addicted to a screen, device or social media is possibly “ spiritual evolution “ at that point I was done with the book. It’s a shame the author has done so well with the rest of the series this simply was a failure.

  • Ponderous page turner

Probably 200 pages too long, but still a decent page turner . Part action, part travelogue and part pseudo scientific - it is reasonably entertaining if you skip the almost forced scientific sections. Not one of his better books.
  • As good as The Davinci Code!

Not only was the book enthralling, but the subject matter was intense and enlightening. I’ll never forget what it revealed to me. Awesome book. I recommend it to anyone.
