The Trump Chronicles, Volume 1: The Seizure is a documentary record of January 20 through March 14, 2025 — the opening period of the second Trump administration, written for the historical record. Across ten chapters, the volume documents the executive actions, personnel decisions, agency restructurings, regulatory directives, and constitutional confrontations of the eight weeks: the firing of seventeen inspectors general; the reinstatement of Schedule F; the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency under Elon Musk; an executive order purporting to end birthright citizenship; the dismantling of USAID; the federal freeze on grants and loans; the impoundment of congressionally appropriated funds; the pardons of January 6 defendants; the deployment of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798; the use of a State Department 'Rubio Determination' to initiate removal proceedings against a green-card holder; and the administration's responses to early federal court rulings.

Each event is recorded with the date, actor, and mechanism, and sourced to canonical reporting and federal documentary records.
