Description

"Our baby died on prom night, and nothing was ever the same again."

Corabelle doesn't feel like any of the other college girls. On what should have been one of the happiest nights of her life, she and her boyfriend Gavin watched a nurse disconnect the ventilator from their seven-day-old baby. During the funeral two days later, Gavin walked out and never returned.

Since then, her life has been a spiral of disasters. The only thing that has helped is her ability to black out whenever the pain gets too hard to bear, a habit that has become an addiction.

When Gavin shows up in her astronomy class four years later, he is hell-bent on getting her back, insisting she forgive him. Corabelle knows she can't resist the touch that fills the empty ache that has haunted her since he left. But if he learns what she has done, if he follows the trail back through her past, her secrets will destroy their love completely. And once again, she'll lose the only person who always believed she was innocent.

--John J Asher, author of A DIGNIFIED EXIT
--Written with great authenticity and depth, FOREVER INNOCENT is a love story about tragic loss, second chances and the infinite capacity of the human heart to forgive.

--Mimi Strong, author of FOR YOU
--FOREVER INNOCENT combines the tumultuous passion of FALLEN TOO FAR (Abbi Glines) with the emotional resonance of HOPELESS (Colleen Hoover) for a new adult romance you won't soon forget.

I couldn’t put this book down. I read a lot. If your sensitive to a baby’s death i would not suggest this. It’s a story of two young adults who go through a terrible loss of a child together and trying to put the pieces back together in their life. And it ends on a cliffhanger to make you read the next book to see how their relationship ends. I plan on reading the next book.

This is truly a different type of love story. It is one of the most moving stories I have ever read. Praise to Deanna Roy for being willing to write such a personal story that touches subjects that most would never dream of writing. This was the first book that I have read by this author and I must say it was good! I have not read any books that focus on this particular subject. And to be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. But as I got more into the story, it was very good. This story is about Gavin and Corabelle who have know each other all their lives. So naturally, their friendship develops into a relationship. They suffered a heartbreaking loss of their baby when they were high school seniors and things changed from there. Fast forward four years, the two are reunited; however each are not the same person that they were before. The death of their baby and their separation have shaped them into who they are in the present time. Without giving too much away, the story follows them on the road to coming back together and dealing with their inner demons. The story has flashbacks of the couple during their younger years especially focusing on the times of them as parents to their son and what they went through leading up to his death. Those parts were very heartbreaking and I couldn't help but tear as I was reading. It was very emotional and I couldn't imagine what they were going through as many couples have felt what Gavin and Corabelle were feeling. In the present time, I kept rooting that Gavin and Corabelle would find their way back to each other. I could sense as I was reading that they were just perfect for each other-I could really tell that they were in love. Throughout the story, there was a lot of good mixed with the bad. I didn't know that there would a second book when I started to read but with the ending, I am interested to see how things progress for Gavin and Corabelle and how it will lead to their HEA. This story was beautifully written and had the right mix of sadness and happiness. Deanna portrayed every moment in this book wonderfully. Can't wait to read the rest of their story. Overall, it was good book and I'm giving it 3.5 stars!
