This is a great place to start while deciding weather a German shorthair is for you. It gives a great overview of the breed and what they are able to do in the field but that is about it.. I wouldn't call it a hunting guide more of an outline. I've had my shorthair for a year and I was hoping to learn more about getting into training and hunting with my boy. Though I did learn a lot about the history of GSPs I felt that I already knew the rest of the information in the book. Like I said its great for someone thinking about getting a GSP and need guidance on deciding which pup and breeder is best for them.
