Description

This Special Edition of The Hunger Games includes the most extensive interview Suzanne Collins has given since the publication of The Hunger Games; an absorbing behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the series; and an engaging archival conversation between Suzanne Collins and YA legend Walter Dean Myers on writing about war. The Special Edition answers many questions fans have had over the years, and gives great insight into the creation of this era-defining work.In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to death before-and survival, for her, is second nature. Still, if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

I LOVE this book! It’s so full of danger with the barest hint of romance that will keep you reading. This is definitely my kind of book! If you are looking for your next great read, congratulations, you just found it.

This book is AMAZING! Probably one of my favorite books of all time! This book has you on your toes the whole way. I couldn’t put the book down! All of my favorite characters died (except for katniss and gale) Rue,Thresh, and fox face. Ok this is my opinion but Peeta is getting so much love when literally Gale has been with Katniss her entire life! Like ummm… Yet still amazing book I love it so much and I recommend it to pretty much everyone!

The hunger games is a suspenseful, interesting, beautiful book. I read it in 3 days!!! It’s one of those books the whole time your thinking “this is so unfair!” But there’s nothing the reader can do except hope the characters will change it. Kids are forced to fight to the death in a horrible arena. My fav character is rue I’m not gonna spoil anything but I love rue!!!! Peeta is soooo annoying!!!!!! This book is kinda bloody so I’d recommend ages 12-17 or something like that. Also the book ends on an off note and it’ll make you want to get the second one so make sure you have a way to get the second one as well (i haven’t read the second one so I’m not recommending it) I you like this book read the giver!!!! It’s the best book in the world and it has similar themes to this book!!!! Great book get it you won’t be sorry!

I really did love this book and thought the concept and world building were excellent. The only issue I found is that the first third dragged quite a bit for me personally.
