It’s an effortless read, very pleasant and engaging characters, but the fact that the story encompasses 20 years, I felt at times that there could have been more depth to some of the characters - I didn’t feel like I knew them well enough for that length of time. But it was a well-written feel-good story.

I received this book for free in exchange for a review. I really liked the story about a pregnant teenager who is cast out of her family and is left to fend for herself. She succeeds beyond her wildest dreams and builds a business empire which ultimately saves her hometown. Along the way she gathers loyal friends and eventually reunites with her parents.

I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading many more books written by Mona. What caught my eye and got me to read this book was that my name is also Mona.

I didn't like this book at all. There was a lot of time spent on the background and then the end was just there and over. Really disgusting how the friend would let the daughter show interest in the half-brother, the mother didn't try to contact her daughter the very second she found out, and we weren't told if they abandoned the idea once the truth was learned...granted it wasn't as gross as originally thought but they each could call him father. The story of Rafe and Bella wasn't developed or talked about until the end. This seemed more like pages of notes instead of a book.

Characters lacked development for me. I really didn't care what happened to them. Entire years just skimmed over. And for the friend to allow the kids to date without telling Mom, with her knowledge that they were siblings is just gross. Turned out ok on that front, but she should have immediately called Bella.
