I'm not going to lie, I had to put this book aside for awhile. I was so sad, I couldn't bear to keep reading. When I finally mustarded up the courage to continue reading about what the Dark Guild planned to do to Layla. I'm glad I did. I thought Retribution was bad, haha. Be prepared for tears, tears, and did I mention tears? Even though this book was tough to get through, it still gets five stars because it is amazing. B.C. knows how to scare her readers to death and bring them back to life again. Don't be afraid to read this book because it is totally worth it the heartache! I have stuck with this series all the way and it is still my favorite book series! Starting Devotion as soon as possible!!

The basic magical romantic storyline and wizard wars were entertaining, and the steamy scenes were very good and, occasionally, top-notch. BUT, my god, every other page was filled with constant crying and repetitive dialogue about why they love each other. Even when Layla was crying in happiness, it felt as weighty as when she was sad! I think I started seeing water seeping through my poor cell phone. Too much!

This series is hands down my favorite series. All of the books are so well written, and they never stray from the storyline. This book in particular is jam packed with suspense. It is written in a way that will make you never want to put it down! The end of the book leaves you wanting even more. I have become so attached to Layla and Quin, and I'm excited to see what becomes of them and their family in book 7!

This book leaves off where Destruction ends and it is a constant anxiety filled read which is both heart wrenching and surprising. Love this series!
