Eadweard Muybridge (1830–1904) is a key name in early photographic history. His pioneering locomotion studies of the 1870s and 1880s, a body of over 20,000 photographs, radically changed the way society understood animal and human movement. Less well known is his earlier landscape work, a selection of which is also presented in this book.
