When it rains, it pours … and this amateur sleuth may be in over her head.
Graduate student Raina Sun is trying to keep her head above water as the bills roll in when her dashing college adviser cons her out of several months of rent. Her quest to retrieve the money sets in motion a streak of even worse luck.
First, she stumbles on her advisor's dead body and becomes a suspect in his murder. Next, the only man she's ever loved reappears as the lead detective to the case. Raina's having trouble interpreting his signals--does he want to reignite their passion, or just stay close to his prime suspect?
Her life careens further out of control when her grandma shows up at Raina's postage-stamp-sized apartment, dragging a red suitcase and trouble of her own. As Raina summons her sleuthing skills, she discovers that when it comes to murder, there may be no place for an amateur.

Reviews
Great Grad Student Mystery
5By karenmceAfter reading the third entry in the Raina Sun amateur sleuth series, I decided to reread the first and second books! The first novel was just as enjoyable as on its first reading! This series has unique characters; especially enjoyable are the antics of Raina’s elderly grandmother- she’s a very wily gal, and her senior citizen friends are always ready to jump into a situation if called! Fun all around’.Good job!
4By IDC!Don’t normally read mystery books that have humor, intrigue and lightheartedness in them. Great change of pace.💖Rainy
4By DeeD39It’s a good book, it’s just a little to much description of every little thing for a cozy mystery. I did get a chuckle here & there & I’ll probably read another one soon. 😊Good read
5By martirhbThis book was enjoyable and kept my attention. The characters were fun and interesting!Cute
4By AreouPThis was a smooth read. The writer could use a little more creativity with descriptive details but it was easy to follow,I love Po Po and Raina needs to drink more than coffee, lol.Easy reading
5By sandy w 746Good, clean language, no explicit sex and still good.Just sayin’. One thing I did not like was the configuration of some of the paragraphs that had me confused as to who was saying what. I read at least one book a week so I do not think it was me. That was bothersome but I still enjoyed the story and the characters.Entertaining easy read

5By Hula AuntyEntertaining “humerous female sleuth” which had me guessing until the last pages! Liked the cast of characters who reminded me of the ones in the Janet Evanovich series! Want to read more of Anne R Tan!
