Description

A sweet story about following your dreams that will make your heart full.

Ginger knows that practical choices guarantee a stable life, which is why she chose a career as an office manager. Her job provides a steady paycheck, but it also has her snoozing at her desk. She wishes she'd pursued her passion for interior decorating rather than business.

She’s also trying to forget Greg Shaffer—the gorgeous emergency room doctor she met at a dance club last month. Her dad was an emergency room doctor and the stress of the job turned him into a raging alcoholic, which didn’t exactly create happy childhood memories.

Ginger believes donating her decorating services to her friend’s charity auction is the perfect fix for both her problems. She'll get a break from the daily grind, get her creative juices flowing, and stay so busy she'll finally forget about Greg.

But then Greg ends up buying the condo right above her. Even worse, he deliberately wins the bid on her auction item. Greg seems determined to prove to Ginger that practicality has nothing on passion. And as Ginger brings beauty into Greg's world, how can she possibly resist the beauty he brings to hers?

So many romance books drag on and on, or are only held together with graphic sex. Susan Hatler doesn’t need gimmicks, and she knows exactly how to keep the reader’s interest from beginning to end. Up to Date gives you everything a romance novel should provide, easy reading, smiles, a few tears, laughter, and an escape into a world where love always wins in the end.

Love reading a series of books that bring characters from the series into each story to keep continuity and the basis of the series. Though each story is a stand alone read, the concept of true friendships bring each member of the group a special bond with each other and the group as a whole even as it expands to include the addition each story unveils. It is also uplifting to see growth in all members of the group through their shared trust and compassion through good times and bad.

I needed a lift but didn't gave a lot of time. Remembered her first story and found this one. Easy, light reading, an enjoyable story, readable in an hour. Love the characters, and the clean G-rated story.

Ginger and Greg's story is a complicated one. Greg met her months before, and they had incredible chemistry - but Ginger is afraid since her father was also an ER doctor. Ginger also lives with her sister, Mary Ann who takes advantage of her good nature. Our story shows a new love interest for her at the beginning. Trenton seems nice but talks boring. He mentions his supermodel ex all the time too. When Greg shows up back in Gingers life, and moves in upstairs - she is pretty overwhelmed. On the career front, Ginger is an office manager. She took her parents advice on getting a Business degree she did not want. It pays the bills, yes, but does not fulfill her needs. She loves art and design and has friends who think she should make a living like that. At an auction with friends, she finds out one of her girl friends has listed her company as "Up to Date", the name to go with the services she has generously donated. The winner of such an auction? None other than Greg himself. Luckily for Ginger, everyone loves her designs and her ideas. While changing up Greg's condo - there is a magazine planning to show before and after pictures to further her new company. She is very excited to see the results! Can Greg and Ginger work things out even though what it seems on the surface is they have nothing in common? Greg must convince her there is more to him than the career choice he has made. I found the story to be engaging and for me was a quick read. ***This ARC copy was given FREE from Netgalley.com and the publisher. My honest opinion does not reflect Netgalley, nor its affiliates.
