Description

When a strikingly handsome paramedic finds Kara Larsen‘s lost toddler, only to lecture her for failing to mind her child, Kara is embarrassed and relieved she’ll never have to deal with him again… no matter how good looking he is. Doesn’t he know being a single mom is a lot harder than it seems?! But when baby Nadia has trouble breathing one night, Kara’s frantic 911 call brings that same intense first responder right to her door…

NYFD paramedic Reid Bennett has a compulsion to help frantic parents. But after the way he reacted to the beautiful woman in the department store that day, she wants nothing to do with him. But when they bump into each other for the third time in a week, they both know there’s a spark that can’t be ignored…

And Reid thought he had no interest in long-term commitment. But when Nadia’s father calls out of the blue, Reid realizes he has some triage to do if he hopes to keep his girls…

I felt this story, His Touch wrapped up the Christmas in New York series by sharing Kara's story. Kara is struggling on her own as a single mother and trying to juggle it all, and questioning every decision she makes, carrying the guilt of not being able to do it all... and the slightest mishap making you feel like a major disappointment. Reid who's heart is rock hard after going through the worst imaginable nightmare a parent could possible have to go through and locking those memories up. Kara who is in his CPR class makes all of those explode when her daughter is brought into the middle of class because her Nanny has an emergency and Nadia is a splitting image of his daughter Erin. As fate moves forward Kara and Reid are constantly running into each other, as they know each other now. The spirits of the ones they lost during 911 help them to overcome their hiccups and come together. This was my first Patty Blount story and am looking forward to future stories. I received an ARC for an honest and fair review.
