  • Disappointing 3rd book

The first two stories in this series where exciting and had many interesting scenarios. The third book is a total departure. It consists mainly of trying to decide what food to serve at the feast and how to get that food. The beast turns into an incompetent and single minded man with no personality or character development. The plot consists of repeated situations that quickly grow boring. I struggled to finish the book and wished I hadn’t wasted my money.

Some people get their comeuppance, some people fall in love, many are fed, some children get an education. Love triumphs in the end. Need more info? Read the book!

This finale was absolutely satisfying. My favorite fairy tale was eloquently captured in all three of these stimulating renditions of Beauty and the Beast...

MJ Haag has written an awesome adult version -Beauty & the Beast inspired story (that's one of my favorite Disney movies when my daughter was a child). I really enjoyed this 3 book series. Would highly reccomend this series. I've re-read them 3 times. Some of my favorite books, & I don't normally re-read books! Looking forward to more books from MJ Haag!

Every once in a while, maybe a couple times a year, I get lucky enough to stumble upon a gifted writer whose style just seems to click with my imagination. This is such a writer, and this series of books had me alternating between flipping pages as fast as I could to know how each plot twist was going to turn out, and consciously slowing myself down so that the story wouldn't end too soon (something I failed at miserably). This is a retelling of beauty and the beast, a storyline I would never have guessed would hold my interest for even a couple of pages, but I've never been so glad to be proven wrong. I'm happy the first book was free, because otherwise I'd have never had the joy of entering the richly detailed world and live's found herein. I simply can't recommend this series and author highly enough, no matter what particular brand of fantasy you prefer. You won't be disappointed.
  • Wish I would have picked this series up earlier!

I am a pretty avid reader but daaaaaayyyyuuuum. (Had to spell it that way!) I realize the concept is off Beauty & The Beast but it was still original in itself and spontaneous as well. I have recommended my whole family to read and goodness gracious I will be buying more books from this talented author! 5 stars and bravo!
