Description

Every person deserves to be free, to live his life in peace and try to achieve something in life. Unfortunately, not every person is free.
This book tells the life story of Mary Prince, a West Indian slave.  She was born in Brackish Pond, Bermuda, in 1788. Both of her parents were slaves and so did she.
In this book she talks about her whole life, for as long as she can remember. At the very beginning of her history, she describes her childhood, before she became a slave in the West Indies. She describes her early childhood, which she considered as the happiest period of her life.
She begins to understand what it means to be a slave after she is sold. She also talks about the life as a slave and the conditions under which slaves are forced to work. She talks about the torments she suffers from her bosses and their wives. She also says that the only thing that she had was the hope that the next owner will be better, but unfortunately it wasn’t. She realised that every owner is same, torturing slaves, exhausting them until they die.
Follow the life of this woman, from the beginning of her life and read about her struggle as a slave, her courage and hope.
