Description

Samuel Griswold Goodrich was an American publisher and author of children’s books under the pseudonym of Peter Parley. Largely self-educated he was also a bookseller and publisher at Hartfordand later in Boston. In 1828 he published for 15 years an illustrated annual, the Token, to which he was a frequent contributor both in prose and verse. The Token contained some of the earliest work of Nathaniel Hawthorne and Henry W. Longfellow. Goodrich published Peter Parley’s Magazine (1832–44) and then merged it into his Merry’s Museum, founded in 1841 and for a time edited by Louisa May Alcott.

The main purpose of this book is to exhibit a series of well-authenticated anecdotes, which illustrate the character and habits of the more prominent species of the animal kingdom. The book is full of scientific descriptions and it'll be interesting for everyone whether you are a child or an adult. Just open the book and enjoy the reading...
