Description

Two people, who regret their missed chance, just might get another…

Sexy Australian pro surfer Cooper Malone lives his dreams on beaches all over the world. While surfing is his passion, he can’t quite suppress the longing for a permanent home with the one woman he let slip away.

World traveler Maggie MacLean first laid eyes on Cooper in a crowded bar on the island resort of Bali six years ago. The sparks and sizzle nearly scorched her bikini, but she never had a chance to explore that intense attraction. Later, when Maggie’s pregnant by a man who wants nothing to do with their child, she puts her passport away and heads home to California to be the best mom she can be.

But when a possible career ending injury sidelines Cooper from his beloved waves, he moves in with the one friend he’s been able to count on. Maggie and Cooper have ignored the burn of attraction for six years. Maggie’s not willing to risk their friendship or her son’s heartbreak when Cooper inevitably leaves to compete, but what if this time Cooper stays and Maggie allows their second chance at love to flame?

I loved this story of Maggie, single mom and good friend Cooper, pro surfer. A friends to lovers story that will have you shedding happy tears, throughout the story. Evan, Maggie's little boy just stole my heart, so cute. Cooper and Maggie met six years ago, but with a missed opportunity, she hooks up with his friend and become pregnant. Copper becomes the friend and father to Evan, that the other man never did. Injured, Cooper is staying at Maggie's recovering from an accident, when the they decide to take their friendship up a level, but both are afraid it will ruin what they have. This is a well written book, that will leave you wanting more. Very well developed likable characters, that you will fall in love with too. I highly recommend this book ! I received this book from netgallley for an honest review.

The Rebel is a heartwarming story of two long time friends who become much more. I enjoyed the main characters, Maggie Maclean and Cooper Malone, and Maggie's small son, Evan, was adorable. The romance between Maggie and Cooper was tender, yet the two had plenty of chemistry. I loved reading about Cooper's relationship and interactions with Evan. This was a very sweet and enjoyable romance. Maggie Maclean's footloose existence ended when she discovered she was going to have a child. Since that time, she has led a very settled and responsible life, always putting her young son first. Cooper Malone has been her friend through all of those years, and Maggie has never let on that she wishes he could be more. Cooper, a professional surfer, has suffered an injury that has a strong possibility of being career ending. When released from the hospital, he goes home with Maggie to recuperate. Spending so much time in close quarters brings the feelings that both Maggie and Cooper have been trying to repress to the forefront. They have to decide whether to move forward as the friends they have been, or as more. I enjoyed this book and will be reading more by the author. I liked the characters and cared about what happened to them. The storyline kept me interested and I was happy with the way everything was resolved. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy of the book in return for an honest review.
