But his past prevents him from believing he deserves a future that includes a love of his own. But then one stormy night he rescues a very pregnant Rae Anne Tyson from floodwaters and ends up delivering her baby on the side of the road. Suddenly Dalton’s life is turned upside down and no matter what he believes he does or doesn’t deserve—he can’t walk away from helping Rae Anne.

During a flash flood, cowboy Dalton rescues a woman and child who’s car has been swept down river and lodged between 2 trees. She is about to deliver and he gets her help, saving her 3 year old boy and inviting her along with the women of the ranch to stay. She rented the Overton house that belonged to a former resident and now in assisted living but the house needed major renovation. The community helps fix up the house so it is livable. As with the other books in this series, one expects the ex-Boyfriend released from prison to find her but then it just ends in a HEA. I felt like the story needed more substance.
