Description

It's obvious from the bookshelves and the big screen that heaven is on everyone's mind. All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Bestselling author John Burke is no exception. For decades, he has been studying accounts of people who have had near-death experiences (NDEs). While not every detail of individual NDEs correlate with Scripture, Burke shows how the common experiences shared by thousands of survivors clearly point to the God of the Bible and the exhilarating picture of heaven he promises.

Imagine Heaven is an inspirational journey through the Bible's picture of heaven, colored in with the real-life stories of heaven's wonders. Burke compares gripping stories of NDEs to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will it look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets? This book will propel readers into an experience that will forever change their view of the life to come and the way they live life today. It also tackles the tough questions of heavenly reward and hellish NDEs. Anyone interested in NDEs or longing to imagine heaven more clearly will enjoy this fascinating and hope-filled book.

I long for the day when I no longer need to imagine Heaven! By grace through faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, my sins have been forgiven; one day (hopefully soon), my faith will be sight, and I will see Jesus and be reunited with many loved ones, including my precious son. I am generally skeptical of subjective experiences and would not consider them authoritative. What I appreciate about this book is the research done to open the door of possibility and find the common thread among those testimonies who claim to have had a near death experience. The weight of evidence that God has allowed some people to get a glimpse of Heaven before returning to an earthly existence and remember their experience is hard to argue against. For now, my imagination of Heaven is helped by reading this book. One day, it will all be verified!

This book created a deeper understanding for me in regards to the Bible and what is to come. It made me feel so hopeful. It calls out many verses and links these peoples’ experiences with what has been stated in the Bible. He also goes as far as speaking at the end a bit about his own previous skepticism and how we can find facts throughout history of the truth of the Bible, Jesus, and prophecies. I absolutely loved his book. The author is very clear on the outliers of some of the claims made by people and near death experiences; as well as reminding us that everyone’s interpretation is going to be different. But the core themes are there and have been for decades. I highly recommend this book. It reinvigorated my love for God and what he is preparing for all of us!

My eyes are more open than before and comprehend more than ever, that we are all on this earth to server a purpose and not a mere mistake. The very nature of this book has humbled my heart and caused my soul to leap with joy at the thought of going back home to God. Each chapter, story and verse has given me pause, provoking deep thoughts and analysis of who I am in this world vs who God is calling me to be. Each story and verse has strengthened my commitment and longing to live on this earth, only to glorify The Lord and work to bring others to Him. I’ve found that the marvel and wonderment in each story, along with supporting verse, is all I want to talk about, think about and share with others. This book has helped me see the countless people, whom God made in His image, as a real living souls, not just flesh and blood; who deserve to know the freedom from darkness, that is freely given by the blood of Gods Son, Jesus, shed for our sins on the cross. I desire more than ever, to be used for Gods Will and instrument of His Love, forgiveness, compassion, hope and inspiration. I desire more than ever, for Jesus Light to shine within and work through me. I desire more than ever, for those who may not know His Awesome Power and Love, to come to know His Awesome Power and Love…! May ever single soul in this world, come to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ because He, is so worth it.

I felt like the book was telling me why I should read the book more than just telling me of the accounts. All the stats and the convincing was too much.

When I first read this book a few years ago I was clueless as to how vital it was for me to read it but over the past few months it has become my go to for clues and conformation. Mr Burke was meant to write this I am sure of it and it is our duty to read it. The Heavenly Father is at work in these pages and if you really want to know or get a clue then PRAY and read this book. Thank you so much Mr Burke for following God’s will and becoming such a fine author

I lost my beautiful 10 year old daughter to suicide on 1/1/20 and I was devastated but more than that, I was terrified. What happened to her, is she trapped somewhere? All these and other agonizing questions plagued me. This book gave me so much hope and it helped my heartache. I’ve never been religious so at first I had a lot of ups and downs but in the end I felt peace.

Not a shred of proof for anything in this book. Very disappointing.
