Description

Welcome to Sexy Men…Sassy Women

A bestselling author, a medevac pilot, a hotshot lawyer, a bodyguard, a football coach and a children’s book author…all sexy, sensitive men who can be stubborn and infuriating.

A reclusive artist, a CEO, a family court judge, a businesswoman, a college professor and a celebrity food channel host… all successful, smart and sassy women who try to tame the men they love.

In book one, THE BETRAYAL, Darcy Weston flees to her grandparents’ abandoned farm after her stepfather rapes her. There, she meets Jordan Mackenzie, a local boy, and the friendship of a lifetime begins. In subsequent years, the two young people try to stay in touch from their disparate worlds, but eventually they drift apart.

Flash forward twelve years. Jordan is an accomplished teacher and Darcy, an internationally famous, reclusive artist. They meet again when Jordan publishes a book that reveals secrets about Darcy's past. They are thrown together first over the scandal his book creates, then over a murder. Once again, they turn to each other for help and comfort as they deal with police investigations, a variety of suspects from each other's worlds, and a passion between them which won't be denied.

Praise for THE BETRAYAL:

"This is definitely a page turner (I stayed up way too late because I just couldn't put it down!!), and there's enough romance to keep your heart fluttering."

"It's been a long time since I've enjoyed a book as much as THE BETRAYAL. I've always been a huge Kathryn Shay fan mainly because her books are unique, meaningful and never trite. This one is no exception. If you enjoy good writing, love stories and suspense like I do, fire up your Kindle and start this book. You won't be disappointed."

"Kathryn Shay is no typical romance writer, but she sure does know how to paint a hot love scene with words!!"

I couldn’t put the book down from the beginning. The characters were fantastic and the story was interesting and full of suspense. The characters suffered from the misgivings of abuse and lack of parenting. Once they become adults everything comes out in the open through a book. What a ride!

The first quarter of the book is excellent, everything I’d expect from this talented author. But the rest of the book left me frustrated and wanting to skip to the end. The main character, Darcy, while believable, I had a hard time liking her- which just made me feel bad. And the other main character, Jordan, started off good but then just left me wanting more. I even feel like the ending was like trying to tie pieces of spaghetti together. Kind of painful. The writing was great, story, not so much.

Where do I start to say how much I enjoyed this book. I really was on the edge of my rocker while reading this novel. It had a bit of suspense, romantic moments ,and such caring times for his mother and each other. Her writing skill are awesome.

Once I read the first page I couldn’t put the book down. I loved the writing, the characters, the twists and turns and the fact that I thought I knew what was coming next but I didn’t get it all. Of course now I have to go back and read more by this author to see if I love all of her books as much as I did The Betrayal.

I’ve read hundreds of books but this is my first review. Loved loved loved this book. Even with debilitating vertigo and stuck in bed I couldn’t stop reading it. I fell in love with the characters in the first chapter. Kudos to the author for keeping their story rich and constantly evolving. The happy ending was worth the wait. Being able to follow the characters from youth to adulthood, carrying both new and old baggage kept me riveted to my iPad. This story had everything - innocence, tragedy, suspense, heartbreak, just the right amount of heat/steaminess, and of course the happy ending which I always have to have. Thank you for such a wonderful story!
