Description

Meet Charmaine Digby, human lie detector.

Char's eager to put her ability to the test as the County Coroner's new investigative assistant. But she sure never expected she'd need her eye for lies to solve a murder!

Of course, that was before she was given her first assignment. Interview the hunky doctor reporting the suspicious death of Trudy, a family friend and one of several elderly patients at the hospital whose heart mysteriously stopped.

Coincidence? More likely, there's a murderer on the loose!

In hot pursuit of the truth, Char's on the case, much to the irritation of her cop buddy, who doesn't want her to stick her nose in his investigation.

But she had better keep her eyes open or the next body on the way to the morgue could be hers!

Good old small town living…except for the old folks who suspiciously die rather than get discharged from the hospital. Charmaine (of so many nicknames) is certain there is someone who is “helping” them onto the next plane so their caretakers can be relieved of their duties. But Char can’t get Steve, her neighbor, best friend, and police chief, to confide in her if he agrees or is even checking out the clues she tells him about. What’s she to do? Especially when her great aunt may be the next victim!

Cute book. It kind of ended abruptly, but I enjoyed the story. I do wish the heroine wasn’t so self-deprecating. It was well written.
  • Better than the run of the mill cozy mysteries

Cute, sassy and down to earth mystery/romance. Very enjoyable read. Especially appreciate that there were no typos, missing/wrong words or grammatical errors that are so blatantly apparent in many other freebie books. Thank you for respecting your own work and your readers' time.

Truly, Madly Deeply is an enjoyable first novel in this series. The characters are all lovable and the plot moves right along. It you like the Stephanie Plum series I think you'll like the one too.

I liked this book and I think it's worth the time to read. I thought there were too many characters introduced in the beginning but the story and the characters came together and flowed well. I thought it ended a but too abruptly. I would have liked some of the connections explained more. One connection was completely left out, maybe that is a part of book 2.

Refreshing story minus cussing no sex! It was an honest to good story that kept me reading and wondering! Loved her main character, Char, because she wasn't perfect! I think a lot of people can relate to her.
  • Entertaining.
