Description
From a USA Today bestselling author comes a tale of love and intrigue
Scotland 1556
A lute player's disguise seems the best way Abby Gordon can avoid her enemies, until the castle's mysterious hostage, Iain MacGregor, proves that danger can come in many forms and so can love. When Abby first arrived at the castle she thought it was a safe haven from the treacherous French court, but she becomes increasingly aware that it is the centre of turbulent Scottish politics. But is Iain really a hostage to fortune or is he playing his own dangerous game? As her feelings for Iain grow and the web of danger entangles her more Abby wonders if the biggest deceiver of all is her heart.
With spice, wit and action packed plotting, Kristin Gleeson's Highland Ballad Series is as compelling as Diana Gabaldon's Outlander novels.
'A highland ballad brought to life - plays sweetly on the heart-strings.' Jean Gill, The Troubadours Quartet
Reviews
The Hostage of Glenorchy
1By WOS GalI dislike books that end with “buy next book” to find out what happens. Puts me off the the author. Montana galIf you like spinoffs, this is the book for you
1By finemimewaI thought this was a good book when I was first reading it. All the Scottish speak was new to me and I thought it was neat, but then I saw Outlander and realized that this book is practically a spinoff off of that, with perhaps some Game of Thrones characters mixed in with it. -Definitely not a “must read.”The Hostage of. Glenorchy
5By RhaenelVery enjoyable, interesting, and educational. The Hostage of Glenorchy
4By Westward windsYou know a story is good when you get to the end and you want it to continue. I want to find out what happens next in Abby's life. Ms. Gleason made me feel the general attitude of men towards women back then and I didn't like it! LolDisappointing
1By L LancelotI enjoyed reading this book until I reached the end. I’ve become disappointed with many “free” or low-cost e-books that leave one hanging and to find what happens next you must buy another book.A rating and review of The Hostage of Glenorchy
5By I love too read a good bookI would give it a five star rating. It was a very interesting book, mixing history with an ongoing mystery. I'm anxious to read the rest of the books to find out what happens in the future books.Love historic novels
4By Gramm j.This has lots of action, suspense and historical references. I enjoyed reading the book but the ending seems to be “continued”.A lot of words
3By Eitel19I was disappointed the way it ended. I don’t like to be left hanging. So many people are doing that now. I can’t afford more books .Hostage of glenorchy
4By Anne HartmanOk but not gripping or particularly interesting. Too many Gaelic words to look up to understand the meaning in places.
