Was too long and the story didn't need to be that long! Not necessary to be 2x as long. Very repetitive and redundant

This was my first story, from the Spirit imprint at Tule Publishing. I really enjoyed the bit of inspiration throughout the story. There was just the right amount, as Maggie was needing some help. She had returned to deal with her dad's estate and he wasn't the easiest man to grow up with and there was quite a bit of bad memories. When she left in a hurry to Seattle, she broke up with her long time boyfriend from total embarrassment caused by her father's attitude. Josh knew who her father was growing up and his only concern was Maggie's and her mom's safety. There are a few twists and turns in this story that you won't expect. I really enjoyed the ending and was very surprised. I received an ARC for an honest and fair review.

This was a very sweet and inspirational story. I loved Maggie and Josh. They were characters with real heart. Frankly, every character in the story did, from quirky misunderstood Gwen to Kate, Hannah, Paul, everyone. This book tugged at my heart. Reading about the things Maggie went through while growing up considering how her father was towards her, her mother, and her friends, her strength was amazing. Then after the surprise discovery in her mom's belongings as she was cleaning out the house. Her whole world was turned upside down, and Josh was always there for her. I fell in love with all of the characters.

"Return to Silver Bay" by Lara Van Hulzen is book one in the "Silver Bay" series. This Maggie Mitchell and Josh Harden's story. Josh and Maggie were sweethearts in high school, but due to circumstances things did not end well for them. Maggie had a difficult childhood and still struggles with issues from her past. Maggie is back to take care of things since her father's death. During this time back home Maggie discovers some things that make her question everything she thought she knew about her life. Maggie and Josh get reacquainted and they both still have feelings for each other. Will they be able to overcome the circumstances that tore them apart? Will the things Maggie discovered hold her back! This is a sweet, clean, and inspirational story. Josh is so sweet and understanding with Maggie. I loved his character. The supporting characters are great too. I look forward to the next book in this series. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review.
