Description
Coastal Cruising Made Easy is not only the official textbook for the ASA Basic Coastal Cruising Standard (ASA 103), but also the definitive go-to resource for all sailors who enjoy cruising and destination oriented sailing. The text is published in full color and contains striking sailing photography from well-known photographer Billy Black, and world-class illustrations from award-winning illustrator Peter Bull. One of the text's most distinguishing features is its user friendly "spreads" in which instructional topics are self-contained on opposing pages throughout the book. This easy to read learning tool follows the critically acclaimed Sailing Made Easy, which Sailing Magazine called "best in class" upon its release in 2010. Sailing Made Easy is the #1 resource in basic sailing education, and Coastal Cruising Made Easy is poised to become the industry standard in intermediate sailing education.
Reviews
Great for those seeking to get their ASA certifications but…
3By carlomigueljavierASA 103 is a detailed version of what is ASA101. It still lacks the update it needs for modern sailing practices as some rules or practices no longer applies. Best for those seeking to gain their ASA103 certificationsGood content, but not an iBook, it’s a PDF
3By BurninErnThis is a great book content-wise. It contains excellent information that is helpful and easy to understand with review questions periodically to reinforce important points. If you know this book, you will pass the ASA103 test. It is not formatted as an iBook, however. Highlighting, note-taking, changing font size, and other features that make iBooks great for reference books and text books are not supported in this version. It would be a 5 star rating if this book was formatted correctly.Highlighting not Supported
2By Laguna SailorHighlighting is not supported when reading this volume in iBooks. I verified that highlighting was working properly in my iBooks app by testing it on other books, where it works fine. It’s only on this book that highlighting doesn’t work, and it doesn’t work on my Mac or on my iPad.
