Gray Fowler, star NFL tight end, is being pursued by a stalker, so his team hires a protection agency to keep Gray under the watch of a bodyguard at all times. But Dru's a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt. She's also ferociously determined to uncover the identity of Gray's stalker. And she's just as determined to avoid any kind of romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past. But the closer they get to finding the stalker, the closer they grow to each other. As the danger rises, can Dru and Gray entrust their hearts--and their lives--to one another?

Her One and Only is the last book in the Porter Family series by Becky Wade. As a big fan of romantic suspense, I definitely give this book five stars. This book stars Dru Porter, the youngest member of the family and only daughter. Dru is a former Marine and currently working private security. She is hired to protect Gray Fowler, an NFL football player, who is being stalked. I loved watching Dru and Gray's relationship develop while sitting on the edge of my seat as Dru tracks down the stalker. I really appreciated a strong heroine, great banter between the characters, just the right amount of romance, and a storyline that kept me guessing Although you could read this as a standalone novel, I would recommend reading the rest of the series first. I enjoyed the updates on the Porter brothers and their families in Her One and Only. I am sad to see this series come to an end as all her fans are, but this book was a great conclusion to the Porter Family series. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For me, this is a book that will stay with me for a very long time. I felt an emotional attachment to it long after I finished it. Not only did I connect strongly with the main characters, Dru and Gray, but I really felt that all the members of the Porter family were real people! That is why I love Becky's books so much! She writes in such a way that her characters become part of me and I can't put her books down. I have loved every one of the Porter family books but I seriously didn't think I would like Dru's book that much. Since she wasn't strongly in any of the other books, I didn't get to "know" her so I didn't feel an attachment to her. How wrong I was!!! I should have known that Becky would create a story for her that would blow me away! Because I also enjoy romantic suspense so much, I thoroughly enjoyed that element in this book. Dru is a bodyguard to a big, bad football player (Gray) who isn't really taking a stalker seriously. The management of his team is though so he has to have 24/7 bodyguards and this really bothers him. He especially doesn't think some women like Dru (especially as beautiful as she is) can protect him! But, Dru is an ex-marine and she can hold her own. Gray sees her in action and he's convinced BUT, he still doesn't think he needs 24/7 security. As we delve into the lives of Dru and Gray, it's fascinating to find out what brought each of them to the place where they are today. Gray is a womanizing, chauvinistic, hard headed guy who has had a tough childhood & just "lives for the moment". Dru is a total tomboy because she grew up with brothers and pushes herself to prove she is as good as any man. The two of them are quite a pair! I loved their conversations!!! The other part of this book that I really enjoyed was Dru's brother, Bo and his wife, Meg's pregnancy. It was precarious and such a sweet story. Since this was the last book of the series, the author did a great job of tying all the family members together and giving the readers a great gift by letting us "peek" into all their lives to see how they are doing! I will miss them all greatly! It's been one of my favorite series of books.
