Description
Cowboy on the Run . . .
Once upon a time Luke Tanner had it all. Well, almost all. Then a Hollywood stunt gone wrong stole his best friend -- and Luke knew it was all his fault. He could have stopped it, should have stopped it.
Jillian Crane doesn't agree. When she tracks her late fiancé’s best friend to his Colorado mountain hideaway, she is determined to make Luke start living again. She doesn't know she's the last person on earth Luke wants to see. And she certainly doesn't anticipate the feelings she develops for Luke ... nor realize how deep Luke's are for her.
But can they get over the past they share? And even if Jill can forgive him, can Luke ever forgive himself?

5By FDT!!!I really REALLY enjoyed this story. So much so that I emailed the author once I finished. McAllister mixes grief with love and new beginnings in such a tactful and beautiful way. I really enjoyed Jill and Luke’s story, the push and pull, and the hope and courage not to give up. I’m looking forward to the other books in the series!Cowboys Don’t Quit
4By littlepinkpumpkinHeart breaking circumstances turn into a HEA. Anne McCallister brings warmth to characters.Sluggish
4By Montanafilly73Took Luke the whole book to dig his head out of his butt, talk about a dense man! Jill hung on far longer than most would have. But a happy ending was nice to see.Cowboys Don’t Quit
5By 777sailsWhat a great book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The book went fairly quickly as the plot flowed nicely. Luke is a stuntman for his friend, Keith. Unfortunately Keith insists on doing a stunt on his own and dies. Luke basically retreats from life by going back to Colorado and buying a ranch. Jillian, Keith's fiancee, is writing a book about Keith. She searches all over for Luke to get his help as she wants to interview him for the book. Luke, had feelings for Jillian while his friend was alive and doesn't want to see Jillian. This is the story of the events after their meeting and the series of adventures leading to their HEA. How does Jillian get Luke over his guilt? This story is amazing. Yeah, Luke is racked with guilt and doesn't feel he deserves to be happy since his friend can't be. I just loved reading this story. It is written from Luke's POV only which is almost unheard of. I couldn't put it down. I read this in one sitting. I highly recommend.Cowboys Don’t Quit
5By PJSPhotogirlThis story & the characters are great!Cowboys don’t quit
2By OlderheartI give it two stars for effort, but it’s just boring! There was nothing exciting to focus on in Jillian and Luke’s relationship so I didn’t care if they got together or not... The so-called attraction they were supposed to have had two years prior just didn’t transition for me and to the current time. Paco (Luke’s eight year old friend) was fun to get to know, and also Annette and Jimmy was a much more colorful couple.Quick read
5By 1AlannahThis is another short novella in the Cowboy series by Anne McAllister. Guilt kept Luke from living his life after losing his best friend Keith. Jill was a constant, reminding him that Keith had been a real person with real fears.Real and relatable
5By CChilder11Lovely story, it’s easy to relate to the characters. She does an amazing job making you feel what they feel throughout the storyCowboys don’t quit

5By sbsbrinsonSweet story!Cowboy’s Don’t Quit
4By Renae_DJillian and Luke are friends pushed together by a mutual friend... Jillian blames Luke for Keith's death and Luke blames himself as he was Keith's stunt double... Luke has reverted to isolation as he is having a hard time living with the guilt. Jillian has decided to write a book as a tribute to Keith's memory and forces Luke to deal with the reality and Keith's death. Guilty though is added to because of Jillian and his strong attraction to her that he has always had... the faith and devotion that Jillian had to push Luke through these rough emotions was amazing not realizing that he loved her. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.Cowboys Don't Quit
4By Jean GranowskiThis was a very emotional story. Luke has a lot of baggage and guilt remaining from the death of his friend Keith. Jill suffered that same loss, as she and Keith were engaged at the time of his death. She is writing a book about Keith's life, and Luke just wants to be left alone. But there is an attraction between Jill and Luke. This was a great story. I could feel the emotions coming off the pages. Luke had so much guilt and anger from Keith's accident. Then the ending of the story - the last couple of chapters - about ripped my heart out. There was a nice ending, and the ending wasn't excessively sappy, it stayed true to the emotional turmoil that they had been through, in the past and more recently.Cowboys
4By BookSnuggle"Cowboys Don't Quit" by Anne McAllister is book two in the "Tanner Brothers" series. This is Luke Tanner and Jillian Crane's story. Tanner lost his best friend when a Hollywood stunt went terrible wrong. He has gone into hiding because he feels it was his fault. Jillian tracks down Tanner, who was her late fiance's best friend. She wants to convince him that it wasn't his fault and that he needs to start living again. Jillian is the last person that Tanner wants to see. As they spend time together Jillian is shocked at the feelings that they have for each other. Will Tanner allow the past and his feelings of guilt to prevent them from finding true love? This is a story of two people who suffered a terrible loss and found something that they never thought they would ever find. Another great story by Anne McAllister. I received a copy of this book from Tule publishing for an honest review.
