Description

The passionate, impulsive Briana Howard and the sly, snarky Jonas Whitmeyer, make a perfect mess of a couple. Both are stubborn, smart and sexy. They’re also human clones with supernatural powers.

Jonas had resigned himself to a solitary life on the remote island of Palmyra, home of Sandra Whitmeyer’s clandestine clone-growing lab. With young clones now inexplicably dying, Jonas is torn between feeling responsible for cleaning up his mother’s mistakes—alone—and his desire to be with Bree.

A heated tussle on Palmyra leaves Jonas and Briana further apart than ever. Bree storms off to Portland, Oregon, but not before encountering clones of a loved one lost long ago.

Jonas tracks down Briana in Portland, where they race to discover the truth about ties between the Howards and the Whitmeyers against a host of obstacles and enemies. Will Jonas and Bree find a way to be together amid an ever-shifting maze of deceit, misdirection and danger unearthed by the darkest of family secrets?

I was so privileged to be part of Heathers launch team for this book and it did not disappoint! Any fan of the series has been wanting to get into the dark, twisted forest that is Jonas Whitmeyer's mind and Heather wrote it out almost perfectly! Same with Briana. As dysfunctional, scary and downright mean they both seem, you get to see the crap they have to go through and they see each other in totally different lights which made me see them differently too. With the IIA still hanging around, there's a lot of puzzle piece they're still putting together. The one flaw which made me give it a 4 instead of 5 star, was it seemed a bit rushed as many short stories do-especially when it's supposed to be a continuation of a series as opposed to an epilogue or prequel or "same story from someone else's POV". I would've liked to hear more about Brianas past with her family and details of what lead to the events of the summer before (you'll know what I mean). But honestly this was a really good fix for fans of the series and it does leave you wanting more. Not exactly a cliffhanger, but definitely some questions left open ;) Can't wait for the next!

Where do I even start? This book was so amazing, honestly I only read this because I love the series, I never liked Jonas or Bree mug but this book made me see them in a whole new light. From the very first chapter I was hooked. So many twists from the start that it's ridiculously good. I found myself staying up late just to read one more chapter. Even if you don't think you'd like a story with Bree or Jonas as the main characters, try it. Not only do you learn to like them, even grudgingly, but you'll see more of Lexi and the rest of the Wellington group. Disclaimer: I was given a free copy of this book in return for my honest, unbiased review.

This book does not disappoint. Usually after a few books in a series the story just drags and is repetitive. This is NOT one of those cases. Heather Sunseri does not disappoint. There is so much thrill that I couldn't put my phone down. I read it in two days because it was such a page turner.

The continuing saga of the clones. A brief glimpse of what is going on with Bree & Jonas. I'm was so excited to read this and can't wait for the next episode. When I started to read this the author had me from the first sentence. The flow of the story is amazing. The characters come to life and that is hard to accomplish. I've already recommended this to others. Bravo Heather, another amazing book. *Disclaimer... I received a copy for the purpose of review. The opinion stated above is 100% my own.*

If you choose to read this book you will experience a book with a couple laughs and some twists and turns and some moments where you are bitting your nails wondering if the characters are going to be okay. There is a part in it between where the story setting between Portland and where Brianna leaves palmyra that is a little slow but after that is really good. I am glad that I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review

This book begins and ends with excitement that keeps every page turn more and more thrilling and engaging. I was unable to put this down as you are immediately diving into Briana's world. Dr. Howard perplexed me and I thoroughly enjoyed his character because he was someone I did not know if I could trust or not. This book was a wonderful addition to the series and did not disappoint! You will certainly enjoy the characters, the twists and the ending!

Deceived has the ethical depths of Frankenstein, but the Creatures are attractive and fall in love with each other lol. And they have healing superpowers. And they make mistakes like real humans, which is important to me in literature. READ THIS BOOK PPL. I've followed Heather's work for a while and she's phenomenal and funny and cool, not to mention darn nice. She even tweets back at me. And wrote a note in a book I ordered. I. Just. Can't. Even. 💁🏻 so read this book guys. And get ready to QUESTION EVERYTHING YOU THINK ABOUT GENETIC RESEARCH! IT'S SO EXCITING AND RELEVANT AND FRIGHTENING IN THE MOST CULTURE-SHAPING WAY AHHH every high schooler and adult and human should read this With love, A Certified English Major / Science Geek / Hopeless Romantic 😘😘
