Just as good as the Harry Potter because it’s unique writing style. The style goes into the world we all ready know and goes in a different direction . Yeah maybe it’s more dark but that doesn’t mean it’s bad .
  • I watched the movie... it was really dark

So I only watched the movie and like I said it was really dark. It had not witchcraft that Harry Potter had, I feel like that was good witchcraft and wizardry but the movie was pretty creepy. With that little girl who was evil and was like killing everyone I did not like it! I still love Harry Potter, it very captivating in the world of hogwarts. Not an enjoyable movie but I’ll se about the book

First and foremost, Newt is my favorite. Ever. Secondly: some people think this story doesn’t deserve all the hype it gets. I disagree. Remember how the first Harry Potter book was more of a simple, innocent story that grew into something deeper? I think Fantastic Beasts will do the same—just give it time. But I’m not saying the first story is boring. In fact, it’s the opposite! We get a glimpse into magic in America, and learn about new creatures. And the characters completely blew me away! ...especially Newt. 😊🧳🦄 P.S: We get a protagonist who’s a Hufflepuff? Yes please!

It is just like the movie but so much more when u read it. Wish it was more detailed but as a hard core HP fan, what can you expect. An enjoyable read.

If anything picks me up long enough to put me down, I cherish the lives that pity no time left to write anything that I’d ever consider to be wronged, or simply left still, anxiously awaiting a true Listener’s lament.

This is magic for adults and I loved it. A bit thin on the plot but very entertaining. I look forward to a meatier sequel, yes?
  • Edited to the final cut of the film.

There are several deleted scenes on the bluray that are not included in this. Including the Ilvermorney school song. I was hoping for the complete script. Oh well.
  • Isn't a book. It's a stupid script

I'm sick of the money grab that this is. I preordered it expecting the novelization of the movie. Instead I get a digital script. Lame money grab

So I have the hardback version of this book and I got it for Christmas. I saw the movie before I read the book and the book blew my mind! I wasn't sure if it would be able to put all the emotion of the movie into a screenplay but J.K did it. I like fantastic beasts more than Harry Potter cause it's not as dark as some of the last books like The Deathly Hallows or The Half Blood Prince. They're still awesome reads but it's just a little dark for me. And super sad like *SPOILER* and *HUGE SPOILER* deaths. Fantastic Beasts is an awesome read and I've read it 3 or 4 times already so go buy it!!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling is exactly that, a screenplay of the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016). This movie/screenplay storyline is inspired by the textbook of the same name that was released in 2001 also by J.K. Rowling (Part of the Hogwarts Library Series). Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a bestiary of magical creatures from the Harry Potter universe and proceeds from the sale of the original textbook version go to Comic Relief. With all that out of the way - this screenplay was a fantastic (see what I did there?) read. Having seen the movie first it was like watching it all over again but in my mind. The scene descriptions, the dialogue, everything was just like the movie. It was a quick and enjoyable read and if there are future screenplay versions of the next four Fantastic Beast movies made available I will definitely be interested in reading them also.
