Megan Crane kicks off a new series "The Devil's Keepers" about a motorcycle club deep in the swamps of Louisiana and we get our first taste with bad boy Greeley, the sexy hot sergeant at arms. He's hot, he's demanding but when it's Merritt in front of him, he's real. Loved their raw connection! Joseph "Greeley" Shaw swore his life to The Devil's Keepers at the tender age of 18 when he sought the salvation of a family. He has never regretted it, nor looked back. He lives and breathes for his club. The only other thing that ever touched his heart was the one and only woman he's ever loved, but she put a knife in his heart when she walked out on him 5 years ago. 4By MiekeReadsDevil's Honor is a "bad boy, good girl" romance about two people getting a second chance at love. I will say that the characters in the book are kind of messed up and contradictory in their behavior. At times, the main characters seem to be as repelled by each other as they are attracted. Greeley (hero) is borderline abusive and seriously pushy. Merritt (heroine) is either being a doormat or acting out in ways that just seem childish and more adolescent than "strong woman getting her groove back," which is what she seems to be attempting to do in her own disfunctional way. By the end of the book I did buy the relationship between Greeley and Merritt and I did understand their motivations in the way they acted through out their relationship. More importantly, I enjoyed reading this book from start to finish. I received an ARC for my honest review.Great start to this series
4By lovesbooks6565I was generously given this book as an ARC through Netgalley. This book is about a 2nd chance at love. Merritt and Greeley met the summer before Merritt's law school. Greeley is a tough biker and asked Merritt to stay but Merritt followed her dreams of getting out of the small town and left. She is now back because of an abusive ex and has to deal with the consequences of her choices from that summer. All of the above is pretty much laid out very early in the book. There is also a background story reg the "club" which is going to be an ongoing theme in the future book. Ms. Crane has also done this with her Edge series(dystopian world)....which I have also read and enjoyed! The 2 main characters do have great chemistry. Greeley is a tough and rough talking biker who is also hurt by Merritt's actions. Merritt is a bit spoiled and has been led to believe she is above the small town of bikers. She eventually comes to realize all the benefits she has had in the past and present due to this small town and it's bikers. I was annoyed with her decision towards the end....I thought she was getting her head and feelings in order but then she does this detour, which didn't make sense. It felt like a ploy....but don't worry it is definitely a HEA. I loved the side characters and can't wait for their books, esp T'Roscoes. The author's style incorporates a lot of "in the head" talk.....meaning the character goes on and on about what he/she feels......in other books, it was too much and distracted from the story but in this book it was fine. The H and h really shine when they are interacting with each other. Ms. Crane's style of writing is not conducive to skimming bc she tends to have these long run on sentences which goes from one thought to another......reminds me of Kristen Ashley. All in all this series is definitely one to look out for....same for the "Edge" series. (less)Hot, Steamy, Motorcycle Club

Merritt Broussard was the doctor’s daughter who left town to follow the dreams instilled in her by her father from an early age. One summer between college and law school, she had a summer fling with a bad-boy biker, leaving scorching memories to help her survive her lonely future. Five years later and she’s back in Lagrange, with trouble following her, still attracted to that hard, dangerous man. Joseph “Greeley” Shaw found the Devil’s Keepers after his enlistment overseas was completed and never looked back. Greeley was determined to live and die by their code and no one came between him and his brothers; at least not until he meets Merritt, who touched his soul. Greeley resolved to honor his commitments. That includes keeping Merritt safe. This was an intense, entertaining story with well written, complex and authentic characters. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. Ms Crane takes the reader deep into the bayou country where one could feel the heat and humidity that surrounded the swamps. Her characters are real, do not apologize for their behavior and are led by their animal instincts. I highly recommend this book to other readers, especially those looking for a hot and dirty read in the motorcycle genre. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
