Sweden which is officially referred to as the Kingdom of Sweden is part of the Scandinavian group of countries, which are situated in the Northern part of Europe. It derived its name from an old English word “Sweopeod” which meant ‘people of the Swedes. Sweden is known to be a country based on culture, history, and geography. This country shares a border with Norway on the west and Denmark in the southwest. With 450,295 square kilometer land space, the country boasts of being the third largest country in the whole of Europe with over 9 million inhabitants.

Sweden’s capital city is Stockholm and it is the most populous city in the country. The country is known for its active beneficial role in providing a superb social welfare system, proper healthcare, and high educational standards to its citizen. The country boasts widely known authors in literature, which include Strindberg, Harry Martinson, August, and also the famous Nobel prize winner Selma Lagerlof; renowned artists such as Carl Larsson, Tobias Sergel, Carl Milles, and Anders Zorn.
