Loved this sweet, magical, heartwarming romance! It had it all and I just couldn't put this down and neither will you. Maddie hasn't had a New Years Eve date in six years and although they have just celebrated Halloween, her best friend Kiera thinks they need to put themselves out there if they want this year to be different. But Maddie has been secretly crushing after her sexy, sergeant, neighbor Noah for the last year, since he moved in. Although they have talked a few times nothing had ever come of it. So when her friend leaves, she goes outside to change a burnt out light bulb and runs into sexy Noah. When Noah quickly offers to take over but then promptly falls off the ladder hitting his head on the concrete walkway. Maddie takes him to the hospital to get checked out and then makes him some food the next day. Although he asks her to eat with him, Maddie is pretty sure he has had enough of her and starts to realize they are two very different people. But as she goes to leave what starts as a innocent hug quickly turns to a hot sizzling kiss. The military had always taught him to not act impulsively, that it could be dangerous. And thy were right. But Maddie had starred in everyone of his late night fantasies. And she felt incredible in his arms. But then Maddie runs away from him to her apartment. When Noah sees Maddie come home a few nights later and there is another guy that is close to her he is jealous. When he kisses her again and asks her if she wants him she answers yes. Together they have some serious heat, but when Maddie says she has some reports to do, Noah thinks she is trying to get rid of him and no one has asked him to leave before so he tells her that he wants to stay. But do they both want more? Is Noah and Maddie going to get a HEA? Will Maddie have a date for New Years Eve? You will need to read to find out. Loved this sweet, heartwarming, magical story. Highly Recommended! Received a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
  • Waiting for Midnight & Love

Waiting For Midnight by Samantha Chase is a stranger to friend to lover story. Maddie has a crush on her upstairs neighbor, Noah, and has been trying to get his attention which has yet to happen. That is until a broken light bulb, a fall off a ladder, and a concussion occurs. This was a fun and entertaining Christmas novella with loveable characters that you want to support and cheer on hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written and complex. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I genuinely enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Samantha Chase is a magician! She can weave a deeply emotional, funny, and sexy story that has you turning the pages as fast as you can and leaves you feeling satisfied all in a novella! Noah and Maddie are neighbors who are attracted to one another but both are afraid to make the first move, enter a broken lightbulb and the magic of the holidays.
  • A quick sweet emotional read!

An absolutely sweet romance set up on a premise of not wanting to be alone on New Year's Eve. Samantha Chase has brought her wonderfully descriptive narrative style to this story of a young woman who doesn't have any family to spend the holidays with. Maddie has had a crush on her next door neighbor for over a year & can't get him to notice her. Noah is estranged from his family since he feels he always needs to be alone. Thanks to a burnt out light bulb, a mishap on a wobbly ladder & an unforeseen injury, they end up spending time together. Can they overcome their differences to find love? Samantha has managed to fill this short novella with so much emotion & content that you feel a connection with the characters from the very beginning. The plot line moves quickly but doesn't feel rushed. A very sweet emotional read that is a great value! You won't want to miss this one.

Such a great holiday novella! Samantha Chase did such a great job with this short story. Waiting for Midnight was a sweet tale about Maddie and Noah, neighbors, who navigate the holidays by spending them together. Noah was quite resistant, but Maddie's upbeat-ness (is that a word?) charmed him into it. I would have loved this to be a full length novel, since there was so much to their story that could have been told.
  • Excellent Holiday Read!!

Maddie is tired of not having someone to kiss on New Year's Eve. So Maddie and her best friend try to figure out how to make sure they have dates this year. Maddie has a crush on her neighbor Noah, but has decided after a year of liking him with nothing in return, it's time to move on. Noah is quiet, former military and just keeps to himself. Noah knows about Maddie's crush but doesn't want to encourage it. One night after Noah helps Maddie out they start talking, one thing leads to another. This was a heart melting story. I stayed up way to late reading, could not put it down. I read it in one sitting, which is not usual for me (I am not the faster reader). It left me buzzing with joy. This is a definite must read!!
