I loved the Adrien English series since I first read them a few years ago and although Josh said he wasn't writing anymore, I never gave up hope. Although this is a short novella and not a full length story, I still enjoyed reading it very much. The "mystery" was brief but still interesting, but the real story here is the development of the relationship between Adrien and Jake. I hope that we get more about A&J in the future and we see how their relationship progresses as they settle into it. Definitely worth the read!

**An ARC of this book was provided by the author for my unbiased review.** I've loved the Adrien English mysteries since I blew through the series after a friend recommended them to me. I normally don't enjoy first person narratives, but from the beginning I've been hooked. If you don't normally enjoy first person, give this a try. It is well written and I was drawn in to the lives of these characters in this series. So much so, that by the end I don't even remember how the story is narrated, just that I adored it! It was a joy to return to Adrien and Jake's romance and see it growing as they both reached for one another through words and actions. You can see that the relationship is still fragile but that it's growing stronger with the love they share. The conflict in the story was well thought out by the author and the story fit the length. It's easy to bite off more than you can chew when you write a novella - by which I mean that authors can try to have too many subplots which can be left hanging. No worries here. The plot for this story fit the length constraints without leaving the reader feeling cheated. Also, I loved the focus on Adrien and Jake's relationship and the interactions with Jake's family. Thanks Josh for this wonderful late Christmas gift and cozy read to ring in the new year!
