It even includes recipes for homemade wipes and "a day in the life of a newborn". The author's tone is enjoyable and pleasant. Great resource for any new parent!!Best Newborn Book!!!

Newborn 101 is a thorough and (blissfully) concise manual on everything newborn. I prepped and researched like crazy before my first child was born, but still found myself unprepared for (and perhaps slightly traumatized by) certain tasks. Like, how the heck do I cut my baby's nails without making her little fingers bleed?! This book not only covers nail trimming, but has an instructional video on how to do it. Also very helpful is an accurate and comprehensive description of what to expect from the hospital/ birthing center/ midwife upon delivery and recovery. The author manages to cover the entire gamut of caring for a newborn and does so without judgment or agenda. I highly recommend this book!Highly Recommend :: Newborn 101

I wish this book was available to me when I had my first child. The author does an incredible job of thinking of every detail of the reality of giving birth. After my first child was born, I was completely overwhelmed by the experience, and that is because I had a lack of understanding of what to really expect. The books I read did not prepare me, and now that I’ve had children, I know that this book educates the to-be parents on every aspect of what it really means to go through child-birth and the first few months of how to parent. I am definitely going to recommend this book to anyone having their first child, and as a refresher to anyone having their 2nd child! This author thought of everything to cover, and includes various situations from single parents to twins!Best resource for first time parents!

5By CaitseyDLet's face it - we don't all have the time (and money!!) to take classes on childbirth AND caring for a newborn. This guide is an excellent purchase for parents who want something comprehensive yet straight to the point! I love having this on my phone, as when I have a question, I can quickly flip through the chapter titles and find an answer right away. This is SO much better than google, which often just gives slews of articles that have contradicting viewpoints and information, not to mention loads of fluff that you have to sort through. I also love the chapter on stretching and massage - every time my little guy gets fussy, I use the videos to guide me through the moves, and my son calms down almost right away - it's such a great tool to have when nothing else works! I wish I'd had this guide with my first born, but it was still a great refresher with my second. Definitely a great buy :)A Must Read

Her focus is parent and baby- there is no particular product or philosophy being advocated as is usually the case, i.e. sleep training books, doctors on a side of vaccination debate, etc. Lauren provides a wealth of information and encourages you to trust yourself. To that end I read Newborn 101 by Lauren Ryan and found a wealth of useful information. The ebook is well organized and easily understood. Pictures in each segment are helpful in illustrating each of the topics covered and the videos offer even further useful advice. I especially liked that the detailed guide covered care of the infant from everyday routines to special needs and situations. I highly recommend this book. A beneficial read. I wish I had had it when my children were infants.Great read/view
