Description

“I sent one of my associates to England. He drew sketches, took pictures, collected documents … The island … couldn't be more English.” –Hergé

Chasing down counterfeiters in Europe, Tintin discovers that the key hub of their operations is located on a doomed island off the Scottish coast. There, he fights Doctor Müller, whose only goal in life seems to be getting rid of Tintin.

Tintin, perhaps one of the most famous cartoon heroes of all time, is as much a child of the 20th century as his creator, Georges Remi—aka Hergé (1907-1983). Tintin's adventures, marked by his inquisitiveness, sense of mystery and witty humour, are deeply rooted in the events of that tumultuous era.

Featuring an official new English translation.

I agree with the other reviewer that these translations are flat compared to my old copies.
  • Do not buy! Retranslated mess!

These books have been retranslated! The iBooks description does not attest to that. I bought five albums, just to discover that they've all been redone... Just horrible. This isn't the Tintin I love and admire. Of course, I have asked for a refund. I am not a purist by any stretch of the imagination, but the translation is pedestrian at best, and robs the story of flavor and edginess that was the hallmark of some characters like Haddock. :/ Very disappointed indeed.
